I never heard of level 4 cache.

For example 5960X has 20MB of level 3 cache

The new CPU will have 25MB of level 3 cache

This noted (but abreviated) in my OP

It will be too early for an actual release date. But I posted first half (again abbreviated) of 2016.

I am going to take a punt here and state that it is likely Asus will release a rampage v black to co-incide with the Broadwell-E release.

Awesome, H1 16 is just after Pascal, lots of benching ahead

I hope 8 cores drop to a more affordable range

Oh that is why I never heard of it before, for iris pro model CPUs only (currently).

Will be interesting to see over they coming months when more spec info gets leaked out as to weather L4 cache is introduced to 2011-3??

Given this was in the Desktop models, I suspect it will be transferred over to the big brother.

It's been 2+ years since X99. Although they are staying with the same socket, I'll bet they will release a new chipset - to take advantage of higher DDR4 speeds and better peripheral support.

Still good news if you already have an X99 board. Easy upgrade. Just need $s :)

Considering this is for the iGPU of Broadwell CPUs I don't think you'll see L4 cache on Broadwell-E. No iGPU then no need for L4 cache.
