i based my overclock volts and avx offset based on what silicon lottery have tested with their delidded 7900x's

all of them from 4.5ghz binned up to 4.8ghz binned all had avx-3 and avx512 -5

    Im at 4.7Ghz 1.237V with avx as above, mems 4400c19 @ 4000c16

Havnt been able to boot past 4000mhz yet, not sure if i will be able too!

OK decided to just hoike the CPU up to 4.7 Ghz and set AVX and AVX 512 to 7, and this is what I got. I have not touched the mesh yet. I will say that Corsair H80i V2 definitely seems inadequate with a 7820x. Look how the temps flared up on a simple CPU-Z bench, this is not even Realbench, OCCT or Prime95. I am using Core voltage of 1.195. Looks I like I will go back to 4.5 Ghz till I get my complete setup ready. EK is coming with a monoblock for Apex VI early October. And CoolerMaster C700P also seems to be available mid next month only :(

BTW any one know why the minium amount in the second column become red with single digits ? What does that mean ?

Its a warning of the distance to TJMax. The maximum recommended temperature of 105C before it will auto shutdown.

    just some quick runs

    7900X @ 4.8Ghz 1.26V AVX-3 AVX512 -5
    32gb (4x8GB) 4400C19 @ 4000C16 with sec and tert timings tightened.

    now for 4.9Ghz

    7900X @ 4.9Ghz 1.3V AVX-3 AVX512 -5
    32gb (4x8GB) 4400C19 @ 4000C16 with sec and tert timings tightened.

can boot 5.0Ghz @ 1.3V, however at my thermal limit, will need to delid to get 5Ghz running i think, but room is very warm, and been overclocking for past few hours. Good chip.

EDIT: And all of this is with only 1 x 8 PIN CPU plugged in. not sure if i had the second one connected if it would make a difference.

havnt tried cinebench yet, and havnt tried with no AVX offsets yet, reason im using them is on SL's website with their binned chips they have that set.

Now i need to find someone in melb who wants to delid my 7900X!

    Trying to push the 7800X 6 core up a bit more. Running P95 26.6 on blend for 1 hr 4.9Ghz @ 1.275v , cache stock and mem 4000C16 @ 1.39v. Temps fine.
Might try 5Ghz but will probably need around 1.35v or so to pass at that.

Unfortunately I don't think there's any for sale out yet. Der8auer had to make a few changes to his original design.

Once the full HEDT Skylake-X lineup is released it will be 2k and 3k just for the CPU. Nope!

i would have gone with the 7920X, if i could have got one last Friday, i couldnt wait, haha. very happy with the 7900X, 4.8-4.9Ghz right now without a delid. boots 5 but gets a bit toasty!

haha, my 7900x and apex was 2100. actually its the most i have ever spent on one CPU 1399, previous was a 5960x for $1300

indeed, hence why the mass clearance of parts trying to fund x299 :D

yeah, its pretty full on, but still better then shitripper

I loved my 7900x too. Single thread performance is crazy at those kind of frequencies.

I think I am going to have to sit on this board and CPU for a while as the upgrade habit is getting too damn expensive these days!

I am going to look for a delid tool Id say. If you go down the same path maybe we split the cost and share?

I'll happily take the lid off :weirdo: in my precision vice, nil warranty.
    Extensive pre testing required though

What's left in processors? Not a fan of LN2 crapola ...... ie suckballs OC then sold on. But you can try tempt me, 5Ghz screenies in action :wired:

yep, i will be delidding when i can, happy to split the cost once a tool is available.

i have the big tube of TGc sitting here, doing nothing!

still have a 7600K silicon lottery 5.2Ghz Bin. (also have a 7700K 5.1ghz SL bin, but thats not for sale :p)
Happily sits at 5.2-5.4Ghz for benching.
    Does 6.5ghz+ on LN2
