Thanks guys, sorry I didn't realise I posted in the wrong thread too but you guys are onto it.

I hope my delid worked as I ran out of LM, hopefully it's enough to do the job.

    Cheers.

    :)

Anyone seen reviews for the 7920X? Looks like Intel didn't send reviewers a sample, or is the launch date not today?

been thinking about sending my 7900X to SL to bin and delid for me.

This actually turns out cheaper then buying the delid tool and doing it myself.

Also SL agree to replace the CPU if the damage it during the Delid process.

going to get the asrock x299 itx when it comes out, prob pair it with just a 7800x, so will use a 7800x in main rig whilst the 7900x is being delided.

    Thoughts?

$80 USD to delid no binning
$100 USD to delid w/ binning

$15 aud to post there. Unsure what they charge to post back. Bit of peace of mind.

I wonder what the turn around time is? I have decided a 770k before and it's not too bad. The new delid tool is a lot more sophisticated than the tool I used.

Yea ive delidded a fee kabylakes.

Dont really wanna do it myself on skylakex

SL say 1 business day once received.

So 5-6 business days airmail auspost $15~ 3 business days at SL (arrive, delid, resend) 5-6 businesss days return.

So prob 13-15 business days. So prob within 21 days from sending.

Imma crunch some numbers. Maybe be better to just buy a delidded 7920x from them hha

    $1219.99 USD 4.7bin 7900x
    $1499.99 USD 4.8bin 7900x

My 7900x i can do passes in cinebench and xtu @ 4.9ghz. Can boot 5ghz but hit thermal limit.

I think i have a good one. 4.8bin way to expensive.

Ye really happy with the 7900x

Do want to play with a 7920x too.

Might put the 7900x in the asrock x299 itx (whenever they actually become available)

dont I had issues with my chip from SL

there is a 7800x for sale in the FS section currently that was used as a temp replacement while waiting for another SL chip to be replaced that failed

they are not wrth the risk or $$$ in my experience, the PU i have now runs cooler with stock TIM at a higher speed than their tested and binned unit.

I had a 7600k and 5960x and still 7700k which are all from SL.

    Maybe different with skylakeX.

Im going to guy glenn23s 7800x when he sells as he is goin to get a higher core cpu.

Wholey intend to get the asrock x299 itx board whenwver i can. Most likely put a 7800x in it.

maybe they have had some issues with the x299 I don't know my experience with them was not great. They don't even sell binned 7800x's now.
