I know scum will want a couple of them lol
where do you think W-3175X will be priced?
Considering the 18 core 9980XE is just under USD $2k and the W-3175 is a 28 core CPU, I would estimate USD $3k to $3.2k
thought amd would keep intels prices down.
looks like it made them go insane
Which would be silly as you would just choose a 32 core Threadripper.
depends on the workload. the intels spank it sometimes, and vice versa. when you buy these its important to examine your particular application.
the W-3175 beats everything so if you need 'beats everything' which is a rare requirement, then you would buy it. :/
Usually every intel HEDT platform get two refreshes. Is X299 getting Skylake-X twice and that's it for X299 or is any more refresh coming for X299 any one knows ?
That something I would expect CJ to say.
its something everyone would say. whats to debate there? weird reply.
I assume you have tested it then?
19% higher base clock, 55% more cores than 7890xe
the arch is mature, so no surprises in store. hardware sites say the same basically. so again, whats the drama?
if you have any other questions, let me know.
ps btw i think amd are releasing updates for 2990wx that might make it handle numa better. that should be interesting.
So that's a no then?
28 core vs 32 core. You might want to rephrase your "beats everything" comment.
my 6 core intel is faster than a 8 core failzen so its entierly possible
Dudes, I have a 7820X that I am running naked with LM and a die guard but one core is much hotter than the rest, I added more LM twice already and the same core is still hotter than the rest. Has anyone had this issue? And how did you rectify it? I am concerned that the die guard is too close to the same height as the die and its preventing good block contact on one corner , I could refit the lid to test this but I want to leave it naked (for awesome temps).
Its running at stock clocks too.
Any help would be great.
I have 7900x under LM and direct die frame. One core is always hotter than the rest. This was one of the two cores marked as having highest boost too. So I manually set the same clock and voltage as the non-boost cores. Now it is in line with the rest.
yeah really? Thats a good idea, I might balance the cores and see if the temps balance out too.
Edit - nup it made it worse .... 90c on the hot core ....
That's a bit odd. All the weird things are off on your motherboard? Multicore enhancement etc...
Also, the core number in various softwares don't necessarily match, so you may have downclocked some other core and the hot core is working harder to pick up the slack
anyone knows when the new Skylake X basin falls refreshed processors will be available in Australia ?
Waiting for the same thing here on top of asus prime deluxe II board and intel 905p m.2 drives.
