Looks like iOS 13 will be a major revamp and is coming around September sometime. Anyone tried iOS 13 beta yet? Comments? One of the improvements is a trick with battery recharging to prolong battery life.... Checking the changes list, I think "major" is quite the oversell. Apple are catching up in their app suite with what is already available from multiple third parties, and a new theme is a pedestrian feature (we've had software/interface themes for decades, kids). The apparent speed bump is nice, but illustrates how poorly optimised iOS was to date. That's a nifty way for marketing to cover up for previously poor engineering. It's getting more and more difficult to sift through shill hype for any real software news these days.
Couple of behavior things I’m not keen on but overall ok and I’m getting used to it. Trying beta 6 now.
Been running 13 since last week when the GM came out. Impressed so far, few little UI improvements. I love the new volume indicator that replaces that old intrusive thing that covered half the screen
Nah I use this phone 8 hours a day for work. Will stick to the GM for now Anything noteworthy in 13.1?
Looking forward to this for my iPad Pro more than anything else. I'd love the current gen with USB -C, but will hold out the 6 months for whatever the new model is and deal with lightning dongles for now. Z...
reverted from beta to the mainstream release now it's out aaaaaand now my photos app just crashes on launch cool
13.1 coming next week. I'll probably wait until October to upgrade. Usually give it a week on my daily.
Firstly I can’t believe they don’t release iPadOS and iOS at the same time I would have thought Catalina come out same time too
They didn’t because they need iOS 13 for the phones out for the new phones. The rest can wait because iOS 13 is a buggy mess and the less people exposed to out the better.
it’s good but I think the prediction / autocorrect is not quite as good as Google Gboard. Id deleted Gboard but I miss the option to search and insert animated gifs
gboard was horrible. And nothing beats the accuracy of Type Flow on Windows Phone. The swipe keyboard on iOS is the best since Windows Phone, it's just hard to train it to write swear words.
Problems with iOS13. https://www.news.com.au/technology/...d/news-story/574ee5d7a7642679de9b8b0842d30de8
To be sure it was a weird role out schedule however it was always planned to be September 24 according to the footnotes on the Apple site. I didn't even bother with iOS 13 when I heard of the schedule. It was clearly pushed out for the iPhone 11 releases. 13.1 contains the iPadOS changes as well. I also usually always give it at least a week when they drop a new major version.
It's probably good to not be the first cab off the rank so to speak. I've been running beta ios13 on my ipad because it's just a muck around tablet really. I don't store anything crucial on it.
