Streams everything the host machine can play. You just point the small server app to the folder you want to access (allows for nested folder structure so you can even point it to your entire home directory) and you can browse those folders on your ixxx device.

Best app ever and a steal at 3 dollars something.

It does decent offline conversion too if you set width to 800 and quality to 100%.

i kinda agree with it. like i thought an ipad would solve all the issues of the ipod touch. but when i actually used an ipad, my mate was like 'it's a bit heavy'; i had not noticed until then, and after a 20 mins of holding it it started to feel awkward to use. i could see it being annoying when not seated. while i love my ipod touch because i can operate it with one hand in many cases. i'm not convinced by the ipad yet.

The reason why the iPhone/iPad are so successful and their success is so hard to copy is because they are excellent platforms - the hardware really isn't anything special, its all in the software. But even the software isn't anything special, what is special is that they have created a platform with simple and intuitive controls and graphics, along with a solid UI that can be used to pump out 'apps' that have standard controls and interfaces.

For all the complaints we have about the iPhone and the iPad, its those same reasons why they are so good. And the reason why a Windows 'tablet' will fail is the same reason why the iPad is a success - Android/Chrome based tablets are still a bit of a wild card...

Ah it was fine except it wouldn't go portrait to landscape, it was stuck on landscape regardless of where the switch was.

Glad to hear you got a replacement.

In other news I got my Macally Bookstand case today, initial impressions are positive. I dig how versatile it is and it looks tits.

Just ordered the Yoobao ebay case. Looks quite good from the reviews. Basically exactly the same as the apple case but made of real leather, yummy.

I found this post the other day when I was googling iPad cases; it's really good.

    http://www.macworld.com/article/147154/2010/03/ipadcasepreview.html

I'm looking at a Vaja case. The Leather Agenda to be exact; $230. I assume it's US$ I haven't really had a 100% look at what currency it is.

    http://vajacases.com/

45 Days to make, hand crafted and the colours are customised to what ever you want. I'm thinking maybe just something simple, black leather with white leather line.
