nice looking setup
Nope, just using MK2 for iPad, MM going elsewhere.
Fair enough - had me scratching my head. I got my MM2 and MK2 at "huge discount" prices. A client bought a new iMac, and insisted on a cabled KB and Mouse, I I bought him a cabled KB and mouse, and he swapped with a smile.
Works for me
Wish it did work with the iPP : (
Had a client perma-lock their iPad 12.9 pro on the weekend. He gave it to me to sort out, so I've been testing it out over the weekend to see if I actually want one, and the more I use it, the more I think the 10.5 is a better way to go. By the time I pull out the 12.9, and connect the MK2, I may as well have just used my Air, and it ends up taking up almost as much space as the air even without the KB, it's almost like 11.5-12" would have been the sweet spot.
Anyway, I think it's helped me decide on the 10.5...
I'll admit, the 10.5 is a bloody nice device to hold in the hand.
Say what you will about Apple, their hardware is second to none.
Totally agree. They *feel* well made, and nice to hold.
I'm sure have have a "perfect weight/density/hardness formula hidden away somewhere at Cupertino...
So, Mr Chilled...
Seems you have opened a can of worms with your Baseus cover suggestion. I bought one, loved it, then pretty much have been packaging all iPads with them for my clients. So, now I've been going mad on Aliexpress ordering their power banks (that can be charged with a Lightning cable, FINALLY!), and magnetic tipped USB-C cables, Lightning cables and USB mini cables.
Very handy, and a good way to get around the lack of Magsafe on the new Macbook/Macbook Pros...
Great cases for the price Although I've found a corner hairline crack in mine.....but maybe caused by being on two planes or in hiking luggage I'm not sure
So it looks like Optus has no stock of the 10.5 256 and bugger all of anything above 64 really.
Will have to keep looking but if no stock then not much you can do.
Right, not much that can be done unfortunately. I had to wait a good period of time when I got mine through Optus, but when it was finally dispatched it arrived quickly thereafter.
Ive had the gen 1 12.9" for nearly 2 years and just was reluctant to claim lcd warranty as i sort of needed for concept art this week. But better now then never.
Its insanely convenient to use!!!
The procreate app i use its being recoded to the metal which will enhance performance up to 4x and ridding of open gl. Going from a wacom companion 2 to this was light and day for portabilty uses and the ipad in portrait mode is infinately better.
Dont get me wrong my 24hd cintiq is staying on my desk for home uses.
So Optus only has the rose gold 256 Ipad 10.5
So I got a rose gold Ipad 10.5 ....
Now to find a case that I like.
What do you need in a case? Thin? Protective? With a keyboard? Nice looking?.......etc....?
I am a fan of the Baseus case for mine. At $20, it's a bargain. I get a lot of comments on it, too...
A client of mine bought the Apple keyboard cover thing, the feel of the keys if awful, to be honest. I much prefer the Magic KB, and I can actually have the ipad where ever I want it. It is a pricier option, though. Having said that, I've seen lot of very nice BT KB's at reasonable prices...
Shame you don't have a 12.9 FromPaul - I have a red Baseus case (from when I was tossing up between a 10.5 and 12.9), would have handed it over for a couple of cups of coffee...
That's a pretty good price. I think I might need another case.....was that on ebay? Or a promo of some sort?
I got it through Aliexpress, form the Baseus store there.
I have recently joined the group as an iPad Pro owner.
Just couldn't pass up the Optus deal of $70 + $27/month for 100GB for the 10.5" 256GB model (works out to $648 for the tablet).
Now I'm looking to get a protective case and would like any recommendations you may have.
Budget isn't a big deal as long as it's not exorbitant.
Only real requirement is that it has to have a method of holding the pencil securely.
I'd like if it was leather but not a big deal if it isn't.
If anyone knows of anything like the Moleskine Folio Case but in leather I'd love to know where to buy it lol.
Looks like the standard case is only available for the 12.9" and 9.7".
Unfortunately choices for cases with built in pencil holder is limited. Do you have the smart keyboard or plan to get one? If so, the ones I've got are UAG Metropolis or the Poetic back cover.
UAG Metropolis is a ruggedised look, so bear that in mind. The front cover comes off so you can attach the smart keyboard instead
Poetic Case is a slimmer TPU case and blends a little better into the corporate world.
I've seen another rugged case at JB, but the cover doesn't come off like the UAG so not smart kb compatible.
I did more searching and found this:
Pad & Quill Oxford Leather iPad Pro 10.5" Case
I think I'd like it in black but for those who don't mind the Chestnut or Whiskey colour, this might be a nice option.
