hey everyone, well i like my music, especially when working on my car ect:

sick of youtube ads, i hate subscriptions and it's annoying to get a beep, buzz or ringing mid song mid working on the car, so back to old school i go.

    things i have

    the ipod itself

    Iflash quad Mini SD card.
    new 3000mAh battery
    tools
    odds and ends.

you can find most of it here: https://ifurb.com.au/product-category/ipod-classic/

aussie store with stock actually located here in Aus. Express shipping too :)

    things laid out

testing with only a single SD card as i only have the one* 128gb card right now. I plan to get 4 cards in there :)

Planning to put it all into a new case, although i was stopped today by a couple rusty stripped tiny tiiiny screws :/ need to get those sorted to remove the 'cage' to put things into a new case :)

but for now, i have a 128gb flash storage ipod. estimated mp3 playing time of 43 hours based upon this here ( maybe longer being on SD card rather than mechanical drive )

Good stuff, I love these refurbs. It's something I'll do if I ever find a classic iPod in a barn. Could you list & link all the required parts & tools?

Will you run Rockbox or keep the software stock?

Unsure what i'll do yet with it.

I have bought some ipods from gumtree and other places including here. I intend on doing the same to all of them.

new batteries, new flash hard drives with max capacity.

    i have a couple 7th gens, a 6th gen a 4th gen and a 5th gen iirc all together.

they all have their differences and may need different batteries, and hold different hard drive capacities ect:

I can also put them in different coloured cases, mix and match the click wheel and middle button :)

I was thinking of doing one that is all clear, but putting in a 'red' button for the middle :) like a 'nose' or a "big red button" that people cannot resist to push haha

If someone from here wants me to make one for them, modify their already owned one, or wants to buy an existing one i've done send me a PM :)

Only have this first one though for the next week or two until i get the rest of the ipods and parts :)

I get parts from ebay and https://ifurb.com.au/ along with local fb/gummy :)

No worries, say hi if you want me to do it for you, or if you want me to point you in the right direction for a part or two :)
