1 minute wouldnt have been enough! :leet: Actually from watching the replay of the start I was lucky to escape Martins' front wing, seemed to brake a little late haha.

Anyways I havent done any hosted stuff before and the atmosphere was much more fun than I expected so I want to put the next race on. I think the format that Nick did was perfect, well done there mate.

I think we should have a rule where the loser selects the car, and the winner selects the track or something, keep it mixed up and more fun. What do ya reckon?

Yeah. Thanks for hosting. It really does make it fun when people aren't stressed about various ratings. I really enjoyed it.

The lotus at Watkins or zandy are the good combos.

Yeah this is my first experience doing hosted sessions and it is honestly more fun and relaxed for me. It's made me look into doing a couple of hosted championships next season, I don't see any downside to it really.

I did brake way late on the first turn. I think I was too busy trying to keep it pointing straight off the line.

On another note the extra track detail looks good.

My pleasure guys. I'm glad you all turned up and we had a good go at it. Good to hear that the format worked well, I'll use it again. Hopefully one day I wont be the slowest dude on the track!

    Ready for a start

2nd corner victims, Darrin and Daniel visit the sand

Nick half-spins on the curb ahead of Darrin, keeps it together

Lap 2 and Nick spins into turn 2, Darrin avoids a near miss!

Rob securing a small lead over Martin by the end of lap 2

Daniel slides through turn 2 for some style points

Darrin just behind gets excited and runs deep into the sand

Still excited he goes off again in the next turn

Nick sees an opening and passes under the bridge

Lap 5 and Matt is trying to tame a fiesty Lotus in last place

Daniel slides off in the final chicane which lets Nick and Darrin past

Daniel smoking the rears again. Loves it!

Mid corner twitch and Nick has a big accident into the barriers

Daniel goes through on Nick while he assesses the damage

Daniel takes a bite of the fence himself, Nick re-passes...

Darrin also has a big accident and takes a tow

Lap 9 and Matt moving aside for the leader - Robert Hope

Matt takes a break on the infield for a kit-kat and a kodak moment

Martin in 2nd place looks ahead to the leader

Lap 12 and Daniel gets familiar with the chicane again

Darrin runs off the track and Nick goes a lap up

Darrin gets to watch Nick take the grandma route through the chicane

Next lap Darrin bails a pass after Nick hesitates into the corner

Lap 16 and we see a gentlemans pass as Martin laps Daniel

Martin still charging some 30 seconds off the lead?

The Stig laps Daniel again with a comfortable lead

    Darrin crashes again

Lap 18 and Martin runs out of fuel. Matt pushes him to pitlane, lol

    Robert takes the chequered flag

I'm trying to think of ways I can mount my iPhone sideways on top of my G27 wheel so I can get some extra telemetry from I speed. Not on the wheel itself but you would get a good view with it on the body when the wheel is straight.

Problem is it would have to be fairly easily removed. Any ideas?

I have used an L bracket on the base of my G27 (top middle) attached by 3M double sided tape with a 50 cent iPhone case off eBay also taped on. Works fine :)
Let me know if u want a pic

thats actually one of the things I was thinking

Ugh, had a really tough first GrandAM race. Was coming 9th for most of it with a guy up my arse, which sounds bad but it was really the best I could do without someone crashing. But then someone rear ended me as I had to slow for overtaking a mustang, the car was still driveable but I dropped to 12th :(

The drivers in that series are insanely fast.

Hope they fix the Cadillac tyres (or whatever it is that is causing this), because at the moment they only fast lap you'll set is the first flying lap after that the front end grip just disappears.

I've made a phone mount (HTC HD2) using the cradle from a dodgy $5 chinese car mount kit. I've attached it using cable ties around the inner part of the steering wheel. I rarely use it for iRacing but I do have iRace Dash which works well when I want to use it (in triple screen I can't always see my RPM/Speed onscreen, so I use it as a substitute).

Looks pretty good! I ended up just getting an L bracket and I'll just duct tape that to the casing of the wheel and then put a bit of tape on my phone case. A little bit annoying to take on and off but shouldn't be too bad.

Using iRaceDash. Seems to be substantially better than ispeed.

You could always get a chaep Android tablet as well and a cheap case you can somehow have dangling behind your wheel like a real in-dash monitor. I'm going to start propping up my touchpad like that.

I have a galaxy tab 10.1 with a stand sitting behind my wheel, lines up perfectly with the gap.
