I'm in! Had a brilliant mushroom dish at Vue de Monde in Melbourne over the weekend, but I'm not sure I'll be able to recreate it...

Hahah, that masterchef dish was the first thing that came to my mind. Got some good mushies at New Farm Markets up here in Brissie the other week:

Ooh those do look good, I wonder if we can submit multiple dishes as part of a meal?, mushroom entree, main, side, and dessert!.

Though mushrooms arnt really dessertish which is a shame, I was hoping after mince meat we could get something that could be used in any course, S'pose it depends on how creative you're willing to get, i'm sure there are mushroom based desserts.

Is it a texture thing romen? If it is, you could try making something that involves a mushroom duxelle.

I did a bit of research and it turns out there are a few dessert based mushroom dishes, however theyre all based upon the English Candy Cap which is not grown in Australia due to quarantine stuff, Usually you can get dried mushrooms for the ones that arnt grown locally but I've checked a few places and no one has them, maybe they dont dry well?.

Dear hubby hates them, and mother was allergic. Lucky I was a vego for awhile, or I'd have no hope!
But good idea all the same - seasonal fresh produce is such a winner!

So, how are everybody's ideas coming along?
I'm tossing up between a mushroom duxelles type thing in a boned leg of lamb, or a grilled field mushroom topped with, well, lamb. Just don't quite know with the presentation of the latter, and I'm not sure the former is, uh, mushroomy enough. Still got a week and a half to decide... :leet:
    What are your ideas?

Ive narrowed mine down to a French/Japanese fusion entree, a Italian Main, a French side, or an original AussieHusky dessert consisting of several kinds of mushrooms, alcohols, oils, and chocolates :p, Tempted to spill the beans but I dont want to give the competition a head start!
