I came in expecting a different conversation. I was thinking of the IT staff that use google consistently instead of their brains. I actually found myself starting to do this in a previous role, I was getting so lazy that I would copy the solution from a google result rather than figure it out. I have met quite a number of "IT Admins" who claim to be active directory/novell/cisco/hp experts yet cannot solve problems themselves because they just go straight to "Dr Google". There is just way too many people around who have no basic troubleshooting skills. You dont need to be a uni grad to understand simple things like the osi model. Thankfully the system I work with now is specialised and has barely any hits on google about the product let alone troubleshooting/support. Does anybody know what I'm talking about or am I just old and cynical?
