    Hi OCAU Foodies...

I am a bit of a chicken noob and normally buy the breast on it's own and then do what I want with it. Got home late and I'm trying to cheat by using these oven ready chicken cordon bleu things from Ingham.

Anyway they are almost done and there is blood coming out of them. This is so not normal (I think) because everytime I've ever purchased chicken breast it's white and clean and I always wash it. This just looks gross and now has turned me off my easy chicken and salad dinner :-(

    Here are the pictures...

If this is normal please feel free to laugh at me but I don't remember any chicken breast I've ever bought to be oozing blood out of it! :tired::sick::upset:

Nope, that's not right, especially for frozen chicken.

Looks like a clot has opened up after you've heated it.

Thanks for all replies so far, knew it wasn't something normal! I'm not going to eat it, I'll just have salad. Can't risk food poisoning and quite frankly I don't have much of an appetite after opening that. I paid $7 for that

Don't know if I'm game enough to nuke it and eat it... I don't think chicken will apply to the nuke and eat rule :p

I will email them because the last time I got one of these (like 5 years ago) it had a bit of blood through it but not as much as this does :Paranoid:

    Well, it's definitely non-kosher.

I think the yellow crumbs look make it look even more disturbing.

It's not abnormal for it to have a bit of red sometimes around the bone. Eg, discolouration.

But that looks like an excessive amount. nom nom.

After watching a doco on mass produced frozen chicken, I was so turned off. I still have a pack of frozen chicken nuggets for 6 months now.

Happens sometimes when you buy chicken from the butchers.

Think its just a build of blood or something, nothing that'll kill you.

(probably wont taste nice, but you shouldn't eat that shit to begin with)

Hahaha gross at jam filled ones

I've learnt my lesson... back to the butchers next time...or I can just stick to steak. Bloody chicken *shakes fist*

When I was 12 I sat down for Christmas dinner at my grandmothers place. She didn't have the best eyesight and she served me some roast chicken. I put a bit in my mouth and I remember the taste and texture was off. I spat it out and found she had given me a bunch of chicken gizzards instead of stuffing...It took me 3 years to eat chicken again after that!

I've always been suss on chicken. I'll stick to breast only, thoroughly washed thanks!~

Print out the picks and take your receipt back to Woolies\Coles. They'll refund your money no questions asked. If you are too lazy or embarrassed to go back, leave a complaint with Ingham's by calling the number on the pack.

Well I sent an email last night with the pictures asking what they thought. I also took photos of the batch / barcode numbers so hopefully they can see it's legit.

No response yet... but I'm not expecting one to be honest!
