yep I wish I could go back 600 years :)

Now a separate post dedicated to food!

This is künefe (kunafeh), a pastry stuffed with goat cheese, soaked in sugar syrup and fried, served with buffalo milk cream and sprinkled with pistachios.
    So worth the heart attack

this is another version, stuffed with pistachios. For those on a diet

various turkish delights, nougats, halvas etc

Mesir Macunu, a traditional turkish sweet made of herbs and sugar and believed to be therapeutical. I dont know about that, but it was delicious... sweet, soft, a little bit bitter and sour (sprinkled with lemon drops)

Kokoreç (kokoretsi in greek), lamb intestines wrapped around a spit. Huge pain to clean properly and prepare, but pretty much the best meat dish in the world AFAIC

Mussels. On the top left they deep fry them and serve them in skewers. On the top right there is more kokoreç, finely chopped up by hand and served in sandwiches.

Last but not least, Balik Ecmek (mackerel sandwich). What Istanbul residents voted as their favourite food

    5. Is actually quite a powerful image, it's a simple image but it speaks volumes. Nice one.

17 for me, gotta love saturated reds that doesn't suck (fu jpg compression).

Next time, stay longer! some of the shots look really really rushed.
