try it, i have like the two most common names in the world
yay personally autographed by John Chambers! Well, i'd like to believe it
Close, you no John smith.
i tell you i am loving these old cisco press books, would you ever see something like this published in a cisco press book now:
as bad as it is i think not!
That just sounds like someone saying 'My Cisco wang is bigger than your Cisco wang. So big infact that you can't even handle how big my wang really is.'
Yeah, I heard similiar rumor for MFC (Micro$oft Foundation Class Library).
i've started building My ccie study lab, work is being real slow to appove my training budget (good old public service) so i have had to improvise with old/not used switches (i didn't want to touch these as i might for some unknown reason need them in a moments notice).
So i was going to get 4x 3560-ts-24
but for now i have
2X Catalyst 3550-12T
1X Catalyst 3750G-48TS
and wait for it.......
1X 4006 with SUP III
2X 10/100/1000 48 port line cards
2X 6 GBIC line cards
I have just bought 14 usb to ethernet adaptors and 2 powered USB hubs. these will connect my routers ( dynamips ) to my physical switches.
i spent today building a frame switch in GNS3 ( GUI for Dynamips) full mesh of 8 interfaces for the win..............................................................
i found gns3 really painful to use, and ended up just using dynagen instead, writing the .net files myself. gns3 kept messing my files :/
Oh I want 1 of those. 12 x 1Gb Interfaces!!
What USB to Ethernet adapters you are using.
The ones I have blue screen my Windows XP installaion if I try to use 2.
1 isn't all that stable in any case and I couldn't locate any official up to date drivers.
I could never get the CPU under control.
I'd get it under control, then save and close. Start up again and the CPU would get pegged again.
Physical hardware just ended up being easier as I was spending more time trying to troubleshoot GNS3/Dynagen than I was learning any networking.
I'm using Linksys USB200's at work. $30 each
i guess we will see , if they dont work i guess i can just use the advanced intel network driver and create Vlans for each and then trunk it to a 2948 i have lying around and then from there into the real switches. infact i think that is a better idea......... i might try and cancel that order tomorrow!!!!!......lol
i have just tested on my laptop and this way works a million times better. will do some more testing just to make sure tomorrow but it looks like im canceling that order..........lol
in other news E donkey seems to be crashing my 877. at first i thought it must have been the ips or the CBAC stuff dying but i turned them off and it is still hanging the second i to a search on edonkey.......................
just done a massive update 3 chapters
now all i have to do is IPV6 and my notes are complete then its time for practise questions and revision of notes
well i have spend all day reading about IPv6 and mainly the changes with OSPFv3 as there is a bit of a change in the LSA and what not.
so now its time to review my notes, and questions. what i plan to do is the following:
every book that i used for study i will use any Q&A stuff they have for the chapters i have read. the CCIE R&S Exam guide has some good tables to fill in so i will also do those.
i will first attempt both of the above without refering to my notes, next i will read my notes and then re do the questions. Any gaps in my notes i will then update them. I will also reformat my notes etc as i go.
I hope that i will be ready for the written exam in around 2 weeks, thats not bad seeing i started on the 1st of september. and that is cutting it very close to when my next child will be born because god know how much study time i will get then.
Bah I can't seem to open Chapter 19.. I get errors in Word
yep it seems fucked i will re upload
should be good now
Have you joined any online communities like groupstudy or whatever preparing for your CCIE?
Does anyone recommend any?
no i haven't, i've just been reading books right now.
Wow definitely keeping these links handy
Basically been told over the last few days im lining up to do my Communications Express cert, then going to do my CCNA then move on to CCNP and CCVP, hopefully i can move onto CCIE's from there
