Let's hope the clouds clear up by tonight:

For much of Australia, the eclipse also just happens to fall on the second full moon of the calendar month — otherwise known as a "blue moon".

You may have read that this event is first time a "blue, blood moon" has happened in 150 years. While it's a relatively rare combination, some parts of the world (including Australia) were lucky enough to see a total lunar eclipse on a blue moon just over 35 years ago.

I thought that was yesterday. Went outside and it was clouds everywhere. Looks like clouds everywhere again tonight unfortunately.

It's always overcast when this sort of thing happens.

Sorry guys that you didn't get to see anything, it's very clear from my backyard. Doesn't look very close though.

Clear skies in Melbourne. Interesting but a little underwhelming. Give me a total solar eclipse in preference. It was actually at its best just prior to the eclipse.. brilliant white and larger than life.
