ok so i'm going straight to hell. as great as i've found WP8 to be; cortana is good, the OS itself is fantastic... they STILL haven't fixed the bluescreen issue when tethering.

....so i (inadvertently) trolled in the lounge this morning with it.
to be fair i didn't realise at first. but i had the hotspot turned on, and didn't have security enabled (been mucking around with settings etc)... and of course, 2 mins after being hooked up, my laptop bluescreened. so did the laptops of the 3 other people who connected to the network :weirdo: whoops!

EDIT - I just asked Chris Anstey about that shitty name change for the tigers to become 'united'. he's a nice guy.

EDIT 2 - reminder, virgin lounge adelaide this arvo, about 5:30ish, just in case.

Will be at LAX from about 7:20pm, flying to SYD.

If you're on a Star Flight, msg, and I'll tell you which lounge when I find out which gate I'm at.

It wasn't so good, I was expecting more considering they would of upgraded it all for the olympics. Would of hated to see what it was like before :Paranoid:

People were smoking in the toilets
It was crowded, the flight lands at 1pm local I think.

The food loaded was sub-par as well. Was such a nice refreshing meal SIN-PER

Oh and you only get $20 Changi Dollars flying all that way, PER(Australia?)-SIN-Beyond gets $40 still

Kind of glad i didn't take it and flew via NRT instead. The kirin pouring machine in the JAL lounge was EPIC!

To the VA loyal here amongst us, what are the VA lounges like these days? With the changes to the QF program, i'm not going to make QFF gold next year. I'd much rather fly QF (exit row every single flight, qff points earn in a lot of other areas of my life) but they're making it very hard for me.

I figure i could make VA gold within about 6 months (family pooling with a wife/2yo/parents) but its still 6 months without lounge access while i'm getting there. I could swing a few extra flights here and there and MAYBE requalify for QFF but i don't want to spend any more time away from home if i don't have to and i'm buying a bullshit expensive house soon so i won't have a lot of spare cash.

The virgin lounge isn't too bad, I quite enjoy it but I haven't any experience in the QANTAS one.

Alcohol collection is all bottled, no sprits, which sucks. They have peroni on tap which is good.

Food is average I guess, salad bar, sandwich bar and a sandwich toaster. Melbourne one has a piano that's played sometimes which seems cool.

Try and get in with one of us here to see :)

How do you claim those? I seem to never be able to find it in the magazine, and I would have lost about $500 by now over the last couple of years...

    Speaking of SQ...

    When...............................................................Where

    24/6/2014 From about 5:30am (ARGH!!!!).........SYD - SQ Lounge
8//7/2014 From 10am.......................................Ho Chi Minh SQ lounge
    8/7/2014 from about 10pm................................Singapore SQ Lounge (T2?)

Can guest one at each, Star partners, of course...

This is one of the VASCO lounges isn't it?(have you been before) I've never been but I would suspect it to be kinda sub-par, so unless you can confirm it is good I wouldn't bank on spending a large block of time there.

The changi dollars place is right near the GST refund desks airport side in T3. Right behind Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, which is in between between a nuance and DFS liquor (large ones, middle of the terminal) behind the changi millionaire terminals in front of the coffee bean. Which is opposite one of the security clearance areas for entering from land-side.

If you track along the runway viewing windows the order should be

butterflies - koi pond - Hard Rock Cafe - Massage Chairs - Kids Play Area - Coffee Bean - Changi Dollars desk (close enough)

...yeah I've been a few times

I took this for some reason the other week so might help
    [IMG]

Runway behind in the photo, perfume/make-up store you can kinda see in the distance

Also I read on AFF about somebody buying an ipad or another equally expensive item with the dollars they saved up, nice!

No idea, last time I was in Vietnam was before I had any sort of status... So this'll be my first time.

Ah yeah, I know exactly where it is. (been through Changi more times than I can count - and yet.. Still didn't know where that was!!!)

    Thanks!

Melb Virgin 25 June around 6:30am
Syd Virgin 27 June around 5:00pm

Up to 3 people, but just hoping for 1 (even if you've got a later Qantas flight, just come on over - it's a short enough walk!)
