Just an FYI on the Amex lounge n Sydney - I got in with my wife as I've got a Velocity Amex Platinum which is $390/yr and you get a free domestic virgin flight. You only get 2 entry passes a year for the Amex lounge, but could be a good option, especially if you can get a free or discounted annual fee. The Amex lounge is pretty nice, similar to SilverKris in Melbourne but with a view, and a barista for the coffee.

Yeah the Amex lounge does have a barista, the SK lounge in Sydney doesn't have a barista either

My supp card holders and I are really enjoying the lounge access that comes with the Amex platinum charge card.

On a recent work trip to Melbourne we had breakfast via PP at Sydney T2 at Movida. Free virgin lounge access in Melbourne on the return with dinner in lounge

I found it to be quite grubby and cramped, but it's free so can't complain!

Although saying that I'm in the Qantas business internal lounge in Sydney and it's pretty average!

The Qantas business lounge in Brisbane I thought was pretty poor too. Seems to be more focus on having a staffed bar than quality of what's served. Much preferred Air NZ

Qantas as a whole is a poor airline. Every time i've flown with them (domestic and long haul to U.S) I just felt the quality of service, food and economy seating were inferior to say Virgin or Emirates.

I was very happy with my trip to Japan with them, but yes I found overall the Singapore Airlines business offering to be much nicer.

Recent flight SYD - SCL was pretty good on Qantas, but Singapore Airlines still has it all over them...

Can somebody tell me what sort of food you get in the morning at the Sydney Qantas domestic T3 lounge and is it any good?

    Qantas J lounge
Usually boiled or scrambled eggs with sausages and bacon.
The usual toast, salads, sandwich maker.
    Cake/brownie (varies by day)
    Juicer

I believe the Qantas Pub has similar except without the egg/sausage/bacon (it's been a while since I've been in there).

Doesn't sound much chop if you don't even get any eggs. :(

    Depends on the timing.

    First thing its Cereal/Porridge + Pancake machine + Toast/Sandwich Press + Fruit + Muffins/Similar

Later (~7AM) they often have hot food as well. Baked beans/Scrambled eggs etc.

Thanks. It doesn't sound very enticing, I might just hang out in a cafe.

~5pm this Friday, melbourne Virgin Lounge, +3.

Hit platinum pretty early, missing out on ~230SC disappointing to waste so many SC but unfortunately not enough to bump me to QFF gold, so might as well just get the points. Saw on OZB there might be another double SC coming up with Virgin.

It's not, it's rubbish but it's free so people make the most of it.

I think short of super fancy lounges, if you want 'cafe' style food you'll probably find it lacking.
