how many beers can you drink in 2 hours?

Is it 65 each or for the both?

The food is average at best and extremely narrow selection. If you like to have a couple of beers it may be worth it as its 11-12 bucks a beer in the bars outside of lounge.

    Otherwise meh!

Also depends on what time your are flying. Can get extremely busy in the peak hours.

The few times Ive had access to the Lounge, I never felt I would have value in paying for it. If you've never done it, why not just to say you have but it was mildly disappointing in the end.

If you are talking LIST PRICE of $65 each so total $130 for both... It is not worth it.

$70 ($35 each) will get you much much better dinner/lunch inside the terminal
$15 ($7.5 each) will get you equivalent coffee

$85 total leaves you to spend $65 on alcohol or save

Even if your calculations works out to be $140, you will likely be eating much tastier food.

I would say the only time in your senario that it potentially makes sense is if you were in transit and stuck inside for 4 plus hours better actual seats and lounges is the only benefit

Righto. Makes sense. I've got Qantas club but this is a virgin flight sadly.

Unfortunately I'm can't even use my virgin points to upgrade to business because it's a sale flight. Oh well. Macca's it is! :p

    Thanks for the advice

EK business/first lounge is pretty good as well. IMO, better than QF's own business lounge. I'll be at the QF first lounge this week, so I'll have a better comparison then!

Unrelated to upcoming travel, but I recently used the new Brisbane international lounge for VA, and the Wellington International Lounge for VA.

Brisbane one isn't too bad, nothing close to as good as the old Air NZ one or Singapore airlines, IMO, food pretty good though.

Wellington one was very basic, no spirits, like 2 beers. Overall better than terminal for sure, but average overall, and you have to leave to visit toilets, very nice sandwich.
