Perth heading to Melbourne Tuesday morning will be at the airport 10am ish. Platinum with QFF
just a reminder;
friday night at melbourne - flight leaves at 11 so will be in the virgin lounge from around 7. can take 4 guests.
then saturday 6:15 - 9:00 (local) in abu dhabi etihad diamond first class lounge.
has anybody in this thread actually been able to get another OCAUer into a lounge yet?! it's like waiting for the planets to align
Tell me about it - I'm half tempted just to come to the airport Friday so you can get me in and we can be the first ones...
i'm pretty sure we get prizes for being the first, too!
i assume the guest needs a plane ticket on the relevant airline too?
or can you just rock up?
in domestic lounges you can generally just rock up. with virgin at least, you just scan your card, enter how many guests youre bringing in, and away you go.
international airlines require everyone to have a boarding pass.
Depends which airline, what status, etc.
All my flights are international, and so long as you are on a plane within the same alliance, I can drag you in.
Not sure how long before that benefit vanishes though. I've noticed lounges getting freaking crowded the last 6 - 12 months...
Why is nobody here with me in the lounge tonight? We could all have had way too much wine.
I've taken to finding randoms and dragging them in. It's amazing how hard it can be to give away free piss. Seriously...
Don't think I'm at that stage yet. Ask me after the next bottle
Evidently Zee, it's even harder to drag outsiders into the lounge in Abu Dhabi. Also, the lounge in T1 sucks. Business and first, intermingling?! Disgraceful. T3 all the way. </wanker>
Yup... Amazing. You try to be nice to others...
It's not unusual at all, travellers are generally cautious, 'nice' can reflect as 'hidden agenda' ala candy and van.
You might not have any ill intentions but how can the other person verify it on the spot? They can't.
"Hi, I have a pass to the XYZ lounge, free food and drinks, and you don't need to hang with me - are you flying with a Star Alliance airline?"
Oddly enough, despite asking pretty much anyone, cute females are most likely to say "yes" to date...
start flying out of Sydney on a friday afternoon and you've got a 50% chance of catching me there. I'm not one to say no to too much wine haha
QF FL T1 this Friday from about 1pm if anyone is around.
