I'll keep an ear out at work for it, KFC usually uses SA as a testing ground. I think it's unlikely though, as I've heard managers saying that we're currently not allowed to serve it (if a customer specifically asks us to make one) unless it's in a bun.

Man corporate companies have some weird ass rules. As long as the patron is willing to pay for it, whats wrong with fulfilling a customers needs?

Considering that I'm pretty sure an un-bunned double down counts as a minor WMD, it's probably a health regulation.

If you told me that I would accept and then once I got the burger I would unwrap it and leave the wrapper and bun on the coutner.

It would most likely be due to the health standards and it not being an approved sale item. The same reason bunnings wouldn't sell you fertiliser mixed with diesel if you requested it .

I used to work at HJs and I got told off for giving a customer mayo meant for the burgers in a sundae lid so he could have them as a condiment with his chips.... turns out it wasn't an approved mayo serving container.

Wow, way to be a dick. We do what we're told by our bosses (shit, really we're not even supposed to make it AT ALL so we'd actually be going out of our way to help you), and your response is do that? If you don't want the bun, throw it in the bin. We've had one person ask for a double down, we told him we had to put it in a bun and had a laugh with him. He then sat down, ate the double down and put the bun and wrapper in the bin.

Not everything is a challenge to your imagined alpha male dominance.

I LOLd at the comic, but it isn't very fitting.

I have worked in retail stores iso I've had the whole macho man thing thrown at me.

It's always a sore point with anyone still working there

lol from the article of the guy that made his own double down...

Edit, Final summation: “First bite was awesome. Every bite thereafter was worse until I was half way through. I managed to finish it somehow - I may have blacked out.

At 3am the next morning I woke up in bed and lay there feeling ‘funny’. I thought I might be dying.

    2 stars.

    I had one too!
I expected it to be bigger but it was pretty small!

I wouldnt have it again, well maybe once every 6 months or if I was really really hungry!

It cost $7.60 USD including tax
