    Konami are announcing three retro collections for a bunch of platforms (PC/Windows/Steam, Switch, PS4, XBOne).

    https://www.konami.com/games/50th/ac/us/en/

    Each pack will include ePub books full of behind-the-scenes stuff with developers and designers (awesome that these sorts of "historical info" bits and pieces are now becoming more standard as addons for retro stuff).

    Available April 18 will be the Arcade Collection:
    https://www.konami.com/games/50th/ac/arcade/us/en/
    Games included:
    Haunted Castle (arcade-only Castlevania title)
    Typhoon (A-Jax)
    Nemesis (Gradius)
    Vulcan Venture (Gradius III)
    Life Force (Salamander)
    Thunder Cross
    Scramble
    Twinbee

    And later this year the Castlevania Collection, including:
    https://www.konami.com/games/50th/ac/castlevania/us/en/
    Castlevania
    Castlevania III Dracula’s Curse
    Castlevania II Belmont’s Revenge
    Super Castlevania IV
    Four mystery games

    And then the Contra Collection, including:
    https://www.konami.com/games/50th/ac/contra/us/en/
    Contra
    Super Contra
    Super C
    Contra III The Alien Wars
    Four mystery games

    (Info here via NintendoEverything, Kotaku, Gematsu)

    Looks like someone's grabbed a frame from the video loop on the site, confirming one of the extra Castlevania titles will be one of the Gameboy titles

    [edit]

    Actually, the announced game was "Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge" which is a Gameboy title. The NES "Castlevania II: Simon's Quest" is missing from the lineup. It's also quite universally hated, but all the same I think it should be part of a collection, even if it sucked.

    Castlevania Collection update:
    https://blog.us.playstation.com/201...re-castlevania-anniversary-collection-lineup/

    Release date: May 16, 2019 (US at least, I guess)

    Full list of games (8 in total):

    Nintendo NES/Famicom:
    * Castlevania
    * Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
    * Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
    * Kid Dracula (originally "Boko Dracula-kun" - this was never released outside of Japan, so this is an official world first!)

    Nintendo GameBoy:
    * Castlevania: The Adventure
    * Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge

    Sega Megadrive/Genesis:
    * Castlevania Bloodlines

    Nintendo SNES/SuperFamicom
    * Super Castlevania IV

    A reminder that "Castlevania Requiem" is out on PS4 (exclusively, sadly) and contains "Symphony of the Night" and "Rondo of Blood".

    Looks like all of these collections are bundling all versions from all regions.

    Both the Castlevania and Contra collections have the PAL, US and Japanese releases of all games, including unique music and graphics per version.

    That's bloody cool!
