Well I figured long time no post, and im particularly proud of these images from the other morning at Lake Moogerah:

    1.
    "Mauve Morning"

    2.
    "Ten Seconds before Sunrise"

people have suggested to me that i should look at putting these into a calendar.
Has anyone got any suggestions for good quality DIY calendar sites/creation tools?

    Good job!

That tree on the left is making that second one look crooked! But I checked and the horizon is level :p

Wow...I'd be proud of these too !

A calendar is an excellent idea. No idea how to go about that though .

Edit: Oh yeah, meant to add, in this case, i think the black bars really add something.

    1. I like the left hand side of the image but the shore on the right hand side is off putting. A side effect of hdring I suspect?

    2. This would be my pick of the two. I think it would look cool if it were cropped a bit below the horizon though, to conform to the rule of thirds.

Such a cool location, I have been meaning to go back there for a while. Last time I attempted to go there there were like 10 cows blocking the dirt road..

Have you looked into doing the calendars through redbubble? don't seem too bad, a bit pricey though.

How are you so sure? The first has an apparent side effect of a creating a HDR and Chamellieon submitted them to a HDR group on flickr. Seems pretty likely to me.

Cows don't block roads :). Well, not enough to stop anyone getting past if they want to. A nudge with the bumper bar will move them on if the tooting horn won't.

    they are HDR yes.
But i like to do it as minimally as possible, generally.

cheers for the comments, and yes, i am aware of the intricacies of the mud in the first one, especially the ghosting around the trees, but still the flow and the colours work for me (Y)

It was 1am and I was in a Suzuki Swift. I wasn't beeping or nudging anything. Add to that there were bulls (well cows with horns at least) I wasn't risking it.

I've had bad experiences with cows previously. :p

Hmm I was there a few weeks back and it's pretty full at the moment. But the waterline is receding quickly (which makes new comps anyway :D ).
