Is there anyone out there with some leathercraft knowledge/experience?

I got started a month or so ago and have finished a template for a simple passport holder that I am sure everyone with the tools, has attempted to make.

I plan to add some electronics to mine though, which is something I don't see many people even attempting.

The prototype build is of black tape and 250gsm card stock paper that the template was cut from.
I plan on using veg tan leather, wax for edge sealing, and black leather dye with pagan/viking style stamp designs on the front.

Have a picture or two of the prototype:

    Currently Finished:
    • 2 x card slots
    • money slot
    • passport backing slot
    Future Additionals:
    • card slot windows for easier removal
    • Pen loops down the center fold
    • small slot for travel sim card
Thinking of but not convinced just yet:
    • Plastic panels for the cards/ID
    • small pocket on the back for boarding passes to slot into and fold over and into the wallet
    • Another slot along the long edge for money/receipts like traditional wallets
    • Full scale front cover stamped designs
Leather is expensive so I have some kangaroo leather scraps laying around that I am practicing with.

Anyone else out there doing this stuff? I'd love to see your work/hear your ideas.

Edit: Thank you CAPT-Irrelevant, I uploaded to Imgur this time so there is no issue with seeing the images :). You're a gentleman and a scholar.

I've made a few things, one of the hobbies I'd like to do more but lack of time. Don't really have any pics, only one I have right now is a heavy duty belt made from 5oz oil tanned leather, nickle plated brass buckle and rivets.

The belt looks neat. Id make time for this if I were you. Would love to see more. I'd also made a small key protector using a sex bolt and it seems to have held up with a few months of usage.

Definitely make the time for it man. It's worth it.

Unfortunately not an option at this time. I will at some point but not for the foreseeable future.
