Has anyone tried any of the alternatives to Lego . "Cobi" in particular have some sweet looking kits in their "small army" series .
    http://www.cobi.com.pl/en/toys/small_army/
Pity Lego refuse to do army stuff .

Theres tons of incredibly cheap chinese lego as well but from what I've googled the quality isn't that great . But my boys no collector he just enjoys playing with lego so I guess it's no biggy . Just worries me that the chinese lego might be laced with lead .....

Well, I've found one, but it's on layby at KMart - my name is down on it if the purchaser doesn't go through with it :) The current price on it at KMart is $475!!!!!!!!! I take it back, that was the wrong price, that's the price for the Death Star. I might start calling NSW KMart stores....

Seeing all those weapons, make me think the guys at Lego are kinda kinky too.

There's a lightsaber and a snake there, I hardly think that S&M was the intended use for them :)

Not bad not bad... Let us know when you get it.

Too bad the USD vs AUD is kinda crap now.

Yeah, was going to get this

Except it's listed in AUD so I'd say it's unaffected?

    Technically not correct.

Shop@Home Australia get their stock from Denmark. When the funds are processed they are processed as a cross border transaction in AUD.

So if the item is $100 AUD. You will get charged $100 AUD + SHIPPING + 1.5% of the total (Depending on your bank's cross border fees with mutiple currencies.)

Interesting heads up, Myer have 20% off toys til thursday (tomorrow) if you're a myer one member + with a voucher coupon, which needs to be printed. (anyone with a myer one card will have a copy in their inbox)...

Also, there is a Taj Mahal at the Myer Hobart (one left)... for $400 after you take 20% off... which is quite the bargain. Could someone please go buy it so that I don't go spending my rent D=

That's a shame considering that price was too good to be true. Hopefully it works out and you get a refund.

I'm waiting on my one from the US. Paid $600USD, inc shipping for one.
    Got it from http://www.bricklink.com

    ETA 2-3 weeks.

That's pretty cool. It's taking every bit of restraint I have to stop myself buying the Williams F1 off bricklink atm...
