Oh man I just finished the Assault on Hoth set. It's fantastic! It took me the better part of the whole day to do it!

It was incredibly fun! Only couple of gripes was that it used more bags than necessary, and that the snowspeeder that comes with it doesn't actually fit smoothly through the open gates. You need to twist it at angles to get it through the opening.

But it's going to FANTASTIC on display!

Got that for my daughter earlier this year. It's awesome.

Sadly, we only got half way through the build, and the next morning, Grandma decided it needed to be "cleaned up". Got ripped to pieces an thrown in the "General toy box"...

Still searching for all the bits so we can make it again *ARGH!!!!*

Many four letter words were yelled in despair...

    Z...

Is there anywhere that lists bag contents for sets?

I've got a Lego Simpsons House (71006) in pieces, in a single big bag, and I'd like to sort it back into its original bags so my Son can learn the value of following instructions.

I don't think so. Entire sets yes but not individual bags. You could always look at it as a hard lesson option and make him do it with the big single bag while you wield a cattle prod or similar to keep him going then be all, "now how much easier would that have been if it was in the individual bags?" :p

    That was option 2 :)
Cheeky bugger has already sorted it into Colours now, and on my advice, sub sorted into shapes/sizes for things the stack of 'beige' bits.

Oh man. You know not all sets do the numbered bags? I think it was the mini cooper that had like 5 separate bags, but none of them numbered, and you had to sort it all out :(

    I know it well,

I'd love to get some old lego, where the instructions were basically just a picture of the model at various stages of the build, and you pretty much just played "spot the difference" between one page and the next.

Must have been a LONG time ago, I still have some 1980-83 space sets and even they have "step by step" instructions :) The alternate build pics on the back of many 80s boxes was cool though - no instructions you had to get creative.

I used to have the first Lego Technic auto chassis from 1978. The instruction sheet (sheet, not the huge volumes they have today) had about 10 steps and if I recall correctly, not every piece that was added at each step was included in the parts list for that step. That build was actually hard!
