Samsung was looking into oled with a quantum dot layer.
The local computer alliance ran out of stock this morning of the Phillips with the 1000HDR and ambient light... So I ended up ordering one of the Asus XG438Q for only $30 more than what i would have paid for the phillips... https://www.umart.com.au/Asus-ROG-43in-UHD-VA-120Hz-FreeSync-Gaming-Monitor--XG438Q_52369G.html
I hope the Asus ends up being better anyway, DP1.4 rather vs DP1.2, Freesync 2 vs 1, 120Hz vs 60....
That's a pretty decent price!
Great price. The colour is a little lacking at 90% DCI-P3 but itl still look great.
Good luck getting 120fps in any AAA's hehe
So, looks like the 48 is not coming to Australia. :'(
Noooo I hope that's wrong.
LG hates Australia
The 48" isn't hitting USA right now either though.. Maybe there is hope.
55" starting to appear
Yeah but LG confirmed its not coming to Australia, not that they just havent mentioned it yet. Also the other companies dont appear to do high end smaller TVs here either.
ah yup missed that bit
I guess I look for a bargain C9 55" as im not sure the CX even brings much new to the table.
Sigh that's disappointing.
That is shit actually... how hard is it to ship a few thousand units?
I emailed LG for a response on if they were coming and they said the below
Leaves it slightly ajar.
Regardless, I looked at other options to replace my desktop/future Series X monitor for a high quality TV or monitor that ticks all the appropriate boxes (fantastic colours/brightness/HDR, 4K, 16:9, 120Hz+, 35"-49", VRR) but there really isnt anything appropriate in that range that would be good for both. 48" was already stretching my visual senses being desk based so I wouldnt want to go 55"
