    FULL PICS....

I'm hoping this will be the killer phone the G5 should've been.

It will have a high screen/body ratio.
    HQ audio playback....+record??
Should have a better screen than G5 and be 5.6-5.7in.
Will have micro SD and 3.5mm headphone jack.
SW will be Android 7 hopefully with strong customization options.
    x265 playback.

There's talk of high rez in ear headphones being bundled{which I want}, so if the price is right, this could be my next phone.

FTR, I suspect Samsung s8 to be better overall, but Samsung 2017 phones are priced like Mercedes Benz, they must be living in a fantasy world given the quality of phones from LG/SONY/HTC, none of which will carry the hexy price tags.

The HTC M phones have great audio hardware but I'm done with the crap 3.5mm jack that the M9 has. Time to jump ship. The prices of the new flagship phones are a joke. Will be interesting to see how the G6 pans out.

No audio dac does better than about 18 to 20 bits of useful sound output, ever. This includes the audiophile guys who spends $10,000 on their dac. 32bit is pure wank

I'm aware of the dodgy numbers relating to hi rez audio.....so it's really a question of the sound quality given they're making a fuss about it.

The more voltage output is a large bonus no? Tests on HTC seems to be the best out of most phone brands I've read.

To a degree yes...only a handful of phones pump out greater than .6v....so these new breed with amplified headphone jack, HQ DAC etc should be impressive.

I think this one will be worth the jump from my G4.

    Hopefully Telstra picks it up.

Will be released at noon (Spain time) on the 26th.

    2880x1440, 564 pixels per inch, IP68, new quad-DAC, 3.2+ Ah battery, etc.

LG claims that G6 has undergone lots of reliability testing. About time.

I wonder about the possibility of a G6 pro....

    1....6-6.2in screen
    2....4000-5000mh battery
    3....SD835...tuned 20/20 power/battery
    4...Powerful twin stereo external speakers
    5...Twin SD card slots
    6...128-256g built in memory

I'd want to price match this to the Samsung Mercedes Benz S8+ if possible.

I expect S8/S8+ launch prices to be $1200/$1350AUD.

Possibility of G6 equalling if not exceeding V20's audio prowess.

Just read a brief article regarding apple and others removing the 3.5mm headphone jack. ..apparently Bluetooth is limited to a pathetic 345kps, not sure about USB but it sounds like the 3.5 is the only option for those wanting to take full advantage of flac/hi res audio.

There are AptX, AptX HD, and LDAC-compatible Bluetooth audio devices. They're pretty good and only getting better.

Not interested in anything that can't do proper HQ audio playback...that's the whole point of buying a device with a powerful DAC, it seems silly to pay for it only to have it downscaled by the headphones.

24-bit 48kHz isn't good enough for your golden ears?

I used to dismiss everything Bluetooth as mediocre until I had a listen to (and bought) an AK XB10. LDAC technology is good, too, but is limited to Sony products.

Have a listen to AptX HD device with a good DAC!

Wow, just checked out a vid, looks good. So I can plug this into my 3.5mm aux to Alpine in the car and just use my phone via bt. Only problem is the battery, wonder how long the XB10 will last (battery life wise), if the power was coming from the car. I was thinking at one stage to use a Chromecast audio. Would the XB10 and phone start playing the track when they re-pair when I start the car?

If you want the best, you won't get it from a smartphone. At least, not yet.

If I were you, I'd consider a Sony or AK DAP. Actually, I'd get a Chord Mojo, and save a fair chunk of money.

I mean the best chain from a smartphone, ie, FLAC, DAC, 3.5mm headphones.
FLACs sound decent with my old samsung and samsung basic IEHPhones, so they'll sound awesome once I upgrade.
