Hey all, so in the last days to week or so there's been updates to many miners that enable you to mine on a locked LHR card, but with 2 algorithms, so mining 2 coins at once so you can use the normal LHR cards more effectively.

So instad of the usual 50-70% you get from one card overall, you're now supposed to be able to get 50-70% with one algorithm such as Eth, and then use the remaining power of the GPU to mine a different algorithm that is not affected by LHR such as Kaw to mine ravencoin.

I've given it a quick go just now and well, it needs tweaking.

This was with T-Rex miner, version 0.24.0. Changing nothing but the wallets and worker name.

There are others that have released updates to their mining software that have this kind of thing enabled. Anyone else tried ? and what were your thoughts/results ?

Anyone tried 2 instances of eth mining per 3080 LHR or 3080 Ti LHR and what happens to total effective hashrate? I mistakenly messed something up which caused 2 instances of nanominer to run on my 3080 rig, and each 3080 ended up with 2 x DAGs each, with actually not too horrible a total output (about 90% of normal output).

I did see a few people test and currently it was more profitable to solely mine limited eth. But depends on a lot. If you think raven/ergo etc will double in price you will make more or if you’re a receive rewards and sell

I’m not trying to be unkind here but I think you need to learn the basics before you start messing around with experimental dual mining setups.

As said you need to learn the basics.

1 card is going to take months to hit most pools minimum payouts, now if you want to take a hit and pay a fee you can often get it paid out earlier, you need to check your wallet address on the pool you are using and it will show you the rewards you have accrued.

For example https://eth.nanopool.org/account/0x49791a974b8392ccf516a6865fd8e88b94bb2e45 thats where i am mining, it won't pay to my wallet until 0.4ETH which i set to avoid paying any fees whilst there was high gas fess due to lots of network traffic and because i am holding and have no interest in selling right now it doesnt matter whether its on the pool or in my wallet at this point in time.

Mining isnt a get rich quick scheme, most of the people who have made good returns mined through the poor periods and held their earnings.

Dual mining Eth/Ergo works ok. The Trex Settings on the wiki didnt work as good as doing core lock and more memory.... It swings between 30MH to 40MH/s for eth, so an average of 35 seems about right.

35 seems abit low though, the missing 30MH made up for by the second coin ?

    I get 66-68MH on my LHR 3080.

Yeah at spot price. The crux is... will eth go higher APY than ergo? Its literally gambling

I thought it was a decent price for a minable laptop that the wife can use and game on as well , its as fast for those games for her as the htpc with has a 10100f , 3060 V1 in it and its portable.
Paid an extra $100 for an additional years replacement warranty, so not fussed, have 2 years warranty if anything happens :)

Is anyone actually running the dual mining?
Considering pickup of a LHR card but not sure if its worth the effort

I moved that rig back to eth. Its still got a basic tune on it (like real basic +1300 Memory to get it going). I'll get around to tuning after I finish building 2 more rigs.

I did some quick testing with a mates 3080LHR, seemed to be no more profitable than just mining straight RVN.

Considering an RX6600XT current price and that it will do 32.5 MHS ish, that above harvey's deal aint bad at all. Any chance you know how many watts its doing at all the wall plugged in mining?
