    • Standard Ubuntu Karmic icons (except for a handful from the MacUltimate Leopard pack from gnome-look.org and a handful of custom icons for Tux, the Ram, etc).
    • Ubuntu-provided "New Wave" window and colour theme with dark menus.
    • Ubuntu-provided "UnDotum" font across the board except for the standard "Monospace" being used for monospace characters in the terminal.
    • LM Sensors applet in the bottom Gnome panel (showing motherboard, GPU and each CPU core's temp).
    • System Monitor applet in the top Gnome panel.
    • Conky for the system info and RSS feed on the desktop (far right).
    • Conky Forecast for the weather info in it (initial script from the Conky Colors package, modified).
    • Gnome-Do for the dock.
    • Window glow is the normal Compiz shadow with a different colour and the offsets changed to zero and the radius extended to maximum.
    • Wallpaper is a Borealis photo from Alaska you can get from here.

Love your conky setup. Could you provide your config file? always wanted to set one up but I'm just sooooo lazy.
The borealis only goes to the thumbnail. I love the Borealis and have a similar wallpaper myself, I plan to see it in person one day.

edit: just delete the small.jpeg at the end of the link and it loaded the fullsized :)

Certainly. Grab it here. The Conky Colors package used is here. Note that you must generate your own Location Code for the Conky Forecast component and enter it into the script accordingly.

Sorry - stuffed up the URL. Fixed now. Click on the medium thumbnail for the full size pic. :)

Cheers HyRax1, been sitting here for the last hour and a bit tweaking the config file Got it all working but the network and weather section are empty. Can't figure out what's causing it.

Did you extract the scripts out of the Conky Colors tarball and put them into your Home directory?

You also need to install the Conky Forecast application (the .deb file in the Conky Colors tarball) and configure your own Location Code too (see the readme in the Conky Colors tarball).

Twitter and all the other social network client for GNOME. You can authorize Facebook etc and have your newsfeed appear there instead of going to the website.

I also use it for identi.ca. It can be a bit buggy at times for identi.ca but I still like the application.

I'm having a rest from trying to get this to dual boot, so courtesy of HyRax and his Conky script, I've spent about 3 hrs making it do stuff I wanted. Basic background atm, but that will change.

However, I know I have the IT87 sensors, but I'm not sure how to use them for the CPU temp. Anyhoo...

Yes, and the LHC was watching LOTR and liked the idea of transforming itself into the Big Red Eye just prior to it taking over the world as we know it.....

This is not a conspiracy theory, I saw it on the Interwebs.

Just under teh one about the karmic video bugs and stuff :)

Back OT, if someone could tell me how to include the IT87 sensors in Conky (syntax perhaps?) it would be really noice. I have the ACPI, but that's not the CPU as I understand it.

    Needy, aren't I?

After some tweaking of Ubuntu I've come up with this so far.... had to go hunting to find the right icons for cairo dock, as some of them come up wrong when you drag their launchers on, it's mostly correct now. Going to have a bit of play around with it later on, had to go back to windows to get my TV tuner working... The fun thing about is that cairo dock has stacks... so I can launch applications from my applications stack on the dock like a Mac. Unfortunately it won't let me take a screen shot but you can play around with it... I've installed gnome do as a replacement for the standard run command as well.

I can't get the it87 sensors to go unfortunately.
I followed a tute at ubuntuforums.org without any luck, and as I had the entire thing backed up from my Jaunty install I thought it would be simple.

edit: just tried to go to ubuntuforums.org and the page describes a database error - oh noes haxxors!!!! After the recent outage here I am not getting paranoid (repeat 1000 times)
