I was watching last night when some whale started a fake (manipulative) dump.

In a flash they caused a dump from about 47k to about 39k, hoovered up all the cheap coins they could, then rocketed the order book back up to 47k in literally one minute. Insane chaos in the order book for one minute, then bang, straight back to where it was.

Anyways, I totally fell for it

Blackcoin is pretty massive but still, I've never seen such manipulation before. Good to keep but very dangerous to trade it seems.

Even if it goes up and up and up its still guaranteed profits which is better then holding a bunch with the risk it could end up being worth nothing. ( if you have old coins )

bought mine at 4k so 49k is still 12x the investment which in any other market would be amazing, yet in crypto we always want more and more and more and most times end up holding too long and having them be worth less and less and less.

Or poker... It's often why the contrarian view is worth taking especially if manipulation by whales seems obvious.

So I figure I have about 3 months left while gpu scrypt mining is worthwhile and then difficulties will be getting hammered by the dedicated hardware. Any worthwhile low diff x11 cryptos been announced lately? ;)

lost due to trading. Looked like someone was dumping, but there was no dump hah.

Was about time though, i'd been doing too well for too long

just gotta wait til the next time it's stable ish for a few days

plus, it's really hard to trade properly when it's being done in multiple bitcoins like now

especially when the volume is low like it is now.. The last 2 hours have only seen maybe 100BTC volume.

    also:

what are all of your opinions on coins that are reasonable to invest in?

should be selling my rigs for bitcoin tonight/tomorrow night, and want to stick it somewhere it'll perform reasonably well..

Tempted to grab a BTC in reddcoin for 2sat... i think it's a bit of a shitcoin, but there's an oddly large community around it, and it's actively developed (plus, it HAS traded for 10sat)

what about the current value of blackcoin or vertcoin? bit too high, or reasonable?

yuuup. It's annoying.. I'm not big enough to really manipulate things, but i'm not small enough just to sneak in little trades here and there, and make it worth my while haha

ED: i should have just been patient ;)

price back down to 45000 lol

Lol as opposed to the 'other' aussiecoin...

Being x11 I'm gonna mine it just for the inevitable pump by the devs/whale miners/early adopters. Some interesting 'rules' around it...

'11.5 Billion ozziecoins pre-allocated for distribution to Australian residents
Notional maximum of 1,000 ozziecoins per Australian resident'

    Notional maximum?

'23 Billion ozziecoins over 88 years'

Gonna have some pretty wild difficulty increases to enforce that?

I'm a noob on crypto tech so I'd be keen to hear others' opinion on these constraints.

I think I'm just going to mine every half decent coin that is launched until a new one comes out, then dump half of whatever I mine when it gets listed, and the other half if it ever gets pumped . So far my best returns have been coins like Mint and Air that were easy to mine at the start and came out with huge sale prices, both worked out to something like 0.1BTC/mh/day  '

On Twilight coin at the moment (X11), looks like a straight up DRK copy but we shall see what it sells for :)

Edit: Looks like 42 coin updated to add trading with precious metals, didn't message any of the pools and then the Dev went on holiday. Coin is now propper forked haha.
