Been getting interested in trying some more extreme cooling lately after I spoke to French the other week. Anyway ended up going up to Kayl with French and Unky Ef to have a bit of a dabble!

Dam it's fun, and addictive. There wasn't heaps of LN2 only about 15ltrs (1/2 Dewar) so didn't have huge testing. Kayl was trying to see how his 980X goes and his new GTX 480. French had his EVGA board and GTX 480 and was killing it on the Cascade.

Bloody freak him and Unky Ef, 5.2GHz and just killing peoples scores with 5.8GHz+. Talk about just knowing the motherboard and all those little tweaks. I've posted some pics I took of the night below; Kayl and French would also have some screenshots from the benchmark runs.

I left at about 2:00am which was a bit after we ran out of LN2. As I was leaving though a second GTX 480 was going into Frenchs machine on the Cascade, I'm not sure how the ended up going but they might have some screenshots of that as well.

I think it's time for me to organise some more hardware so in two weeks time we can dabble more with 70ltrs of LN2.

    Dear Leader,

This has impressed me - good work man :D

Can we get some tests with your 5970/480's cranking? See how high it can go!

Strange seeing benching being done on an OS that hasn't been cut down. Kind of freaky actually.

With the service tweaks I use it actually doesn't make allot of difference at all from a cut down version. In 2d benching it certainly would though. In saying that I might try some vista for single card runs next time for 05 and 06 anyway 03 loves windows 7. If you look at the cpu clock and cpu score in 06 it's pretty decent for the clock from others I've seen at the bot and elsewhere so efficiency isn't too bad.

Had a great night last night, was over the moon to find out that my cpu didnt have a cold bug when benching all 6 cores, made the night so much easier for pouring ln2.
I was scatter benching not spending too much time on a particular bench mark.
Picked up the Gtx 480 day prior so havn't really had the time to see what she does. Cant wait to bench again ln2
I think ill have to harass frenchlick for some tweaks, he was smashing my 3dmark03 score at much lower clocks :(

    Great results there guys.

Boostisbest, Snappy1 and I are planning on a cascade and ln2 day. Between the 3 of us we have a fair bit of gear so it should be good.

We just have to get time off work on the same day.

it was a little messy by the end of the night, and as usual myself and uncle EF were taking the piss out of each other. In the morning i found cigarette ash in my pot, at least there was no buts in there like a few benchs back

you guys will enjoy it hey, Friday or Saturday nights are the best for benching we find, start around 7pm and go till early hours of the morning.
Im not sure how my kids sleep through all the noise we make :)

Np Dino, I'll let you know. It'll be good to have someone there with LN2 skilz.

You should come up for a few days. You can crash at my place.
