Looking for a Quake 2 clan highlight video

Mods move if you need to as I'm not sure where this should/could go.

Years ago when I read PC Gamer (around 97/98) when Quake2 was huge there was a clan around [SoQ] standing for Sons of Quad. These dudes were beasts and getting a fair bit of attention on Wireplay and at local lans.

They made a pretty nifty highlight video with some game footage that came on a PC Gamer cd. *shudder* 10 years have passed and I have lost the cd and I am keen to hunt this video down and give it a watch again.

I guess I just want to get all nostalgic because there are about 5 active servers for Quake now and its hard to find a game without resorting to Eraser bots

Any help would be great.

I was in SOQ. I was Necro. I helped organise Impulse 97, and Impulse 98 along with Borg, Atlas, Joecool, Drake, Harsh, Hilary Clinton.

As you would expect, we've all moved on since then (being 13 years older but I may have an old PC gamer with that footage lying around. I'll try and dig it up.

I am racking my brain but I don't think so. To be honest it was fucking bizzare for its time, with I think Necro being tied to a chair becoming part of the Strogg? That was only a tiny bit, the rest was bullshittingly good Quake action.

 

If some of you interested I have quite a few excellent Quake 2 videos from European scene I can share.

Bit o' nostalga I used to lan with Woolabags from CoX/BdC and Gwila from rK and im pretty sure he played for BdC aswell. Me, I played for [XX], BMi and sC.

 

Memories.. I remember BMi, Deny, Romp, TIA, MOS, RHi..
Still have my Quake 2 (and Quake 1) installed after 15 years.. with the original screenshot folder.
