    Hey all
I have a sugo sg13 mini itx case
Currently has a 1070 squeezed in. (266mm long)

Max GPU length for the card that's fits into the case is according to their site is up to 270 mm Long, 129 mm wide

Looking for the best used card around 400 to 450 that I could fit. Any recommendations?

Was keen on a 6800xt but they seem to be huge.

    Other stats are
    Ryzen 5 1600

    ASRock ab350 gaming itx mobo

    G.Skill Trident Z 16GB (2x8GB), PC4-25600 (3200MHz) DDR4

SilverStone 500W SFX-L Power Supply, 80 PLUS Gold,

Note will likely need to update PSU too.

What are some other used cards I could be looking for?

Thanks! Will have a look at the reference cards

Any other cards? Doesn't have to be 6800. Just needs to fit, be around my budget and better than a 1070

I would suggest switching case over to the Sugo16

the sg13 is very suffocating for space

there will be a bunch of single and dual fan rtx3060 and 4060 straight and Ti s in the single and small dual fan configuration .. that will also fit your case

The rx6600 / 7600? and the rtx4060 series will be slightly bandwidth limited due to the x8 interface and the lack of pciexpress 4.0 on your motherboard

just keep that in mind when choosing the card

There's a few 2080ti's that would fit if you're ok with going Nvidia. I run an ASUS dual 2080ti in my SFF pc.

I might have some cards that fit, 3070ti, 6800, let me check lengths when I get home.

Inno3d do a bunch of two slot dual fan cards that are <250mm long and 120mm~ wide. Their Twin X2 line, usually on their 70ti's and down.

So eli5 this to me please.
Sounds like the GPU performance isn't impacted with a new GPU on and older pcie3 Mobo?

    Or am I missing something?

on x16 width cards usually not a problem

the 6600xt is an x8 width card

Still not much of a problem, as far as I can see: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-radeon-rx-6600-xt-pci-express-scaling/. Don't think 1-2% less performance changes the value proposition much.

PCIe speed rarely makes a huge difference - even running over thunderbolt, which is significantly more constrained than a x8 slot, probably wouldn't be more than a 15-20% difference worst-case on a low-end card like the 6600xt - though on a much more powerful card it can be bigger.

Perfect.. thats the article I remember from a long time ago..

    Last paragraph..

"The second big question for this article is what happens to performance when you run RX 6600 XT on a system that only supports PCIe Gen 3 only, and the answer here is quite similar to that of the previous question: on average, you're looking at a 1–2% performance loss, much more in some exotic titles. Considering PCIe Gen 3 is still used in millions of PCs, this is just as important a question, but not worth losing sleep over in my opinion. The RX 6600 XT is a huge upgrade over cards like the GTX 1060 or RX 580 and offers excellent performance at 1080p Full HD no matter whether you're on PCIe Gen 4 or Gen 3. Every single title in our test suite ran very well, at the highest settings. Even for the case of Hitman 3; sure, it would have been nice to have 120 instead 105 FPS, but is that really an issue if your alternatives are the RTX 3060 at 100 FPS, RX 5700 XT at 97 FPS, RTX 2080 at 114 FPS, and RTX 2080 Super at 119 FPS? Or MUCH lower of course when using that old graphics card you replaced with the RX 6600 XT. On the other hand, the GeForce RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti do support the full PCI-Express 4.0 x16 interface (and 3.0 x16, too), so it will see a negligible performance hit when moving from PCIe 4.0 to PCIe 3.0."

    Note the last line..

Yeah I run my RX 6600 via thunderbolt 4 and its roughly the same speed as PCIe 2 x 8. Which is 7% drop average according to that techpowerup article. However thunderbolt also has a serialisation lag at either end of the connection. I'm not aware of the performance penalty for this lag, I think its minimal, but obviously its there.

And yeah stuff runs fine. Helldiver II was fine when I played it last. PCIe 3 x 8 should be relatively flying :)
