My MBA and MBP are both very very cold pieces of aluminium haha, but it probably helps being in tassie and everything is naturally cold :upset:

Still waiting on my i7 13" to replace my pre unibody MBP. Serves me right for getting it through JB but they were having a 10% off sale so i had to buy it then and there?

Well that's what i tell myself...

Had to configure a users new 11" today. I now want one...

I think could get an i5 13" for less then $850 through work. Oh god maybe I should just get the i7... I don't know what to do!

    So very very tempted :(

Picked up a cheap-ish 11" 2010 model and love it so much, contemplating whether to upgrade to the 2011 model through salary sacrifice. However, I'd probably have to take a coupla hundred hit selling off the old unit. Decisions, decisions.

Gee...I don't think I can even get an 11" for that price, let alone a 13". Looks like the O.P's work buys them in bulk at wholesale prices. Note that is a saving of over $599!

Is the wholesale price even that low?

I don't even think Apple (corporate or retail store) employees can get it anywhere near that price either.

I'd say you should go ahead and get one (and show us proof!)- even if you don't want one, you can sell it for a profit :p

He did say "I think" and "through work" could mean his employer is paying for part of it. Don't get too excited everyone. Hehehe

Crap sorry I should have said it was salary sacrifice.

I've been told by a co-worker who just bought a pro that a 13" i5 air will only set me back about $630.

    We'll see I guess

Hmm... unlikely, even if you're in the 40% tax bracket. The base model 13" Air is $1449, take the 10% GST off that = $1304, then take another 40% off for tax = $782.

Not sure where he got his $630 from - even corporate purchasing programs will only knock 10% off that at most. (Been researching the thing for myself :p)

For anyone wanting a MacBook Air; now's the best chance to get one cause Dick Smith are now doing 10% off Macs if you input the code LOVEAPPLE through the checkout in their online store from Friday through to Monday.

I wonder if this is only a special for this weekend or a repeated special weekend deal?
