    Nice :)

Better value for money than I thought, I feared they'd start at $2000 with a Core Solo standard.

I want one, badly, being poor sucks :(

I reckon the 15" MBP is due for a price drop, even though it starts with a 2.0GHz CPU now. I'd like to see it under $3000, or have 1GB of RAM standard (which it is on the 2.16GHz models).

Anyone notice how you can't option the SuperDrive on the 1.83GHz, you have to go to the 2GHz model for it?

Either way, I still want one (1.83GHz with 1GB of RAM). It's $1722 with student discount, and the standard one is $1574 or so.

$300 extra for the black one?

Or am I missing something else that they add?

Nice that they bumped the cpu on the macbook pros as well.

i reckon the white 2.0Ghz is the best bang for buck. $220 extra for the black is overkill (it's $300, but the $80 can be counted as an upgrade from 60-80gb when compared to the white machine).

i don't understand the price premium either.

maybe it's the same logic as having a price premium for metallic paint on cars.

See the world they said. So i bought a mac.
Looks nice and the macbook pro's got a speed bump. But i think i'll be waiting for the memrom MBP's before i upgrade. I'm also hoping for a 160GB or 200GB HD :weirdo:

    It's a pity the cheapest one doesn't have a DVD-RW drive. That's the only thing I want that I don't have in my 12" iBook now. :(

I just ordered a white 2.0ghz too. I would have gotten the 1.83 if it were available with the dvd burner...

hmmm, I am a little disapointed about there not being a 12" but I guess a 13" will go well, I will most likely order one when I get back to Australia, hopefully there will be a generation upgrade or a price restructuring by then. I do like the black a lot but I am not so sure it is worth the additional money.

The gma950's been widely shown to outperform the 9200 on the old ibook. It's annoying, but it's not a total show-stopper.

it's the low resolution that really annoys me :p Oh well.
