yeah? how's the upload?
I’m not interested in upload speeds.
The majority of people in Australian could have had this on NBN v1 ... now we have people who cant even get 50Mbit on FTTN.
Thankfully Perth has the option of good FW if you have line of site to a tower.
Just signed up for 1000/1000 fibre here in Melbourne, cost a bunch but I can't wait for installation next month. Now I need to figure out what I'll use it all for
I wish I could even get that, here in Melbourne, but I'm on HFC. OTH... if I'm honest I don't even need the 96/44 I'm already getting. I just want MOAR speed
Switched from Tier 2 on Optus to Tier 3 with Mungi. FTTP.
I can now live freely on a BYO model (Netgear D7000) and take the proprietary modem out of the equation now (I have suspicion that Optus do MAC address lock downs, allowing NBN internet on only their hardware).
Recently had NBN brought over to my suburb (FTTN) & these are my current speeds (Telstra)
Well, got NBN on Friday.
Had cable. 110/5
Moved house, got ADSL. 11/0.8
3 days later NBN was available. Currently get 30/18 in peak times. Not amazing, but better than ADSL.

Optus Cable in Parkdale VIC, downstream is amazing, upstream kinda sucks..
Not bad for middle-of-nowhere internet.
Wow.. I'm 5km away, NBN via the old Optus HFC (Aussie Broadband NBN) and I get similar, sometimes higher, downloads but sometimes as high as 44 up. Is that actual Optus Cable or NBN? Mine is a 100/40 NBN plan. If you are on Optus Cable rather than NBN, could it be your plan?
Standard for non nbn hfc
Just came off 100/40 with TPG (FTTP) getting a fairly consistent 96/36, think it dropped twice in 1.5 years.
Moved to a new suburb with FTTN, now on 50/20 with TPG, getting 20/4 tops, think its dropped out about 5 times in the last 2 weeks. Latency is considerably lower though...
will post speed test image later if i remember
Ugh, my home ISP switched me to their business service because of some routing issues they were having and now they can police my connection speed (connections to their consumer service are managed through a HTTP login system which I asked to bypass so they previously had no way of restricting my connection speed) - they've slowed me down to 100/100 (I was able to connect at the full gigabit before). Just downloading a Windows 7 SP1 is taking forever, no idea how I managed before on stuff like 56K or the NBN.
I'm so glad I moved. Paying 70/month for unlimited download, 150/15. This is 20yo cable infrastructure, into a basement.
That's a very practical speed profile too.
Would love to see that here.
FIIINALLY. From 6/0.8 to
Been changing since about 6pm
Yeah correct it’s Optus Cable I can’t get NBN here. So yeah the downstream is pretty impressive.
