    Sorry to hear of your struggles, nothing worse than net issues!

    Incidentally are you outer suburbs in Radelaide?

    That's farked up, Belair really isn't that far out of Adelaide at all. I was in Happy Valley for years and we had cable being a relatively newer suburb at the time, so all good there. Guess we still have these bad spots around the place :thumbdn:

    I thought Belair had been rolled out, or at least most of it, so surely you're coming soon?

    Sadly, they stopped short of Belair. I dont think Blackwood has Fibre either.

    My BiL in Panorama at the bottom of hill has Fibre!

    Are you sure? I just plugged a couple of random Belair addresses into the NBN property connection checker and one is NBN connected and the other is ready for a provider.....

    We can get NBN.

    Just not FTTP!

    I guess there could be a few FTTP locations in Belair, but I dont know of any!

    We have very old shonky copper!

    I remember back in the ADSL days, before I lived in the area, that mates up here said that ADSL was unusable for them! YMMV :)

    Have signed up to MORE internet by CBA, 30% off promo and paying ~$83 for 250 / 25. Decent so far, speeds are consistent and ping is nice, no packet loss to game servers and plex 4k streams nicely during peak. Much better than MATE.

    Upgraded to Aussies Gig tier, 1000/50. Pretty happy, speed seems pretty good, as stable as ever. HFC, pfSense.

    Lol the name should've been a giveaway as to connection quality provided, 4 letters just like another great throttler d*d*.
    Do when does the rug get pulled out from under you with the new 1 you've joined lol.
    "More internet by CBA" assume you'll get charged fees for things you can't access and the ISP firewall will let attacks in and block normal traffic. Jokes aside, that's pretty much max speed for that collection plan, hope it does stay that way.

    I was expecting the same crap as MATE COMMUNICATE (LETSBEMATES) but it seems much better, got 14 days to decide if I like it, we'll see what happens. MATE was actually OK for about 2 months :(

    Maybe try to do a speed test using a browser because I think from memory the CLI is single threaded.

    I've actually been with MATE for a while now? Maybe 12+ months? They've been great. Support has been good, too. Can't fault the price ATM either.. $69/month for 100mbit, unlimited... bundled with a mobile plan of $30/month that's unlimited everything, but 30-40gb data? Which I'm never close to using, and also rolls over.

    it’s slower in the browser usually, but that’s just one of my vms on the server so it’s as close to the exit as it can be.

    My laptop gets around 300-400, which is fine, i’m more after upload anyway.

    No, that should not be the case. Something that can make a difference is the extra CPU load the browser-based test applies.

    My test with CLI and 32 CPU cores;
    https://www.speedtest.net/result/c/0a83f923-0344-4541-b310-e2210c49e062

    My test with Browser;

    The only way to get that on the NBN is either a business plan or join Launtel and pay for the extra speed on a per-day basis.

    Yeah, tried Launtel, looked really good but was just no good with my setup, spent a while on the phone with the techs and nothing they could do sorted the issues (dropping connection, online gaming constant drop outs, ipv6 not working right, etc). So yeah, all of one night, churning from Aussie to Launtel, then back all within a few hours lol

    But yeah, I know I cant get more upload, I have as much as I can on standard consumer, which is fine, I'm not paying silly money for business stuff.
