iinet ADSL2+, forced to G.DMT for stability and decent speed (ongoing line fault, lead-in is borked).
    7616/992
    SNR: 7dB/8dB
Att: 43dB/? (router gives a completely incorrect upstream attenuation figure, known issue)

The internet in my house here in NZ is horribad. I thought Australian internet was shit and expensive - you should see it here.

6 more weeks of this crap

ps. No idea what sort of plan this house has or if it's capped. Aus and NZ sites load reasonably quick but far out everything else takes a lifetime. It's strange because I can still download files off random sites at 30ish kb/s yet even loading facebook can be a seemingly gargantuan task for it.

this is at 5km from exchange with:

    down up
Noise Margin: 3.5 dB 5.5 dB
Output Power: 18.0 dBm 12.0 dBm
    Attenuation: 52.5 dB 35.0 dB

that's with a bit of tweaking on the DSL side of things

    Code:
    interface ATM0
     no ip address
     logging event atm pvc autoppp
     logging event subif-link-status
     no atm ilmi-keepalive
     dsl operating-mode auto
     dsl noise-margin -1
     dsl bitswap both
    end

in a few days (hopefully) my new house will settle and hopefully i will get around 10-12 mbit.

all these work people, if i didn't have to conform to ISM i would bypass my proxies and show you what real speed is. We have 2 one gig unmetered connections straight into the TID backbone, damn POS SUN V240 proxies cant keep up :(
