Looks like another unit with the Sigma SMP8635 chipset.

Between this, Popcornhour, a Laser unit I saw a few days ago and no doubt all the Made In China clones about to flood the market, it's going to be the year of the media box.

I agree, I think this is the year. I think they look the goods and for *most* people they would be excellent. I, on the other hand, always need more :( More processing power, more options, more codecs, more customisation etc, etc, etc. HTPC is the only way for me.

Popcornhour definitely looks the goods and a very good price too.

Awesome review on the PCH A-100: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1118284/popcorn_hour_a100_review_179/

I almost bought one this morning but there's a waiting list and it ships from OS so support will be OS if you ever need it.

I'm getting tired of waiting for the H.264 HD network media players to come out......it's taking ages for any decent selection to emerge.

The Clearstream from Ziova (CS615) also looks excellent and should be available in Aus right now but no luck finding it so far :(

So not sure if I should hang out for the CS615 or just go with the PCH A-100.....hmmmm. I like the idea of local support though.

They are just another external HDD/media box to me that would NEVER get used

With a decent HTPC you have EVERYTHING in the one package including bluray/hd-dvd

Just got an email back from Ziova, they say it should be available around the end of May.

I might wait and see how that pans out before going to the PCH.
