Well, the meet-up ended up being Michael and myself. Which was fine, because we did have a lot of fun. Here are a few shots from the night. Bear in mind that no tri/monopods were allowed, lighting was difficult and either low-level or very harsh, and neither of us were blessed with expensive lenses or FF bodies... on a brighter note, The Mens Gallery afterwards was a hoot ;)

I tried to take a slightly different view of the place to the one usually seen everywhere. All images are 'clickable' for larger 800pix sizes.

I like #10. #11 has potential, how does it look with stronger contrast?

I think if you took a closer photo of the 'locker out of order' from the bottom (about the same level as the middle locker) at a steep angle, you'd have a more artsy shot. It would be a very cliche shot.. but meh.. i like cliche ;)

Another artsy shot would be a picture of the threads of the mini-excavator?

edit: just realized.. your lens blocked your flash!

The Sydney Cityrail stations looks pretty dodge standard compared to the melbourne station pictured.

It's Melbourne's second most well known station after Flinders. So I'm sure it'd be kept clean and pretty. I love 10. But I do have a fetish for trains.

I was in Sydney Central the other week - when I was a kid, and even a teenager, I used to think it was a pretty cool building. Having lived in Melbourne for 18 months or so now, it's a little, um, less impressive :)

But hey, it's better than Canberra (where I'll be living in a couple of months) - one very unremarkable station in the whole place.

Oh, nice shots BTW :) When the airport bus dropped me back at Spencer St I was tempted to pull the camera out and see if I could get anything interesting before getting 'caught', but in the end was too tired to lug my bags around. Will have to go back at some stage.

    Ben
