I just got two new lenses from the States, a 10-24mm and 70-200mm f2.8 Tamron. Went out with GOATMAN!!! a few nights ago for a bit of a walk around Melbourne to test them out. I mainly stuck to the wide as I wasn't getting long enough exposures to hold the tele still. His K-x with the higher ISO was much more suited for the tele.

As I didn't use it much, I took the tele out this afternoon on the way home from an exam, and I really like it. There's heaps I need to learn about shooting with it and shooting 'street'. Need to get used to the size of the thing, and taking pictures directly of strangers. These are straight off the camera and converted (and resized) to jpg.
Still trying to decide whether to take it with me to Nepal next month or leave it home...

    As always, C&C is welcome.

I enjoy #6, but I'm a sucker for night cityscapes.

quite like #4, love the motion blur.

from 10 onwards they feel a bit too snapshotty and nothing in particular strikes as interesting.

Love #2, and the irony of it being captured by a street tog.

now go for another 'street' session with the 10-24mm. to build your confidence, shoot the street buskers at bourke st.. then the people watching the buskers, etc.

Thanks for the comments and tips.

Yeah I want to head out again, but I think I'll wait until it isn't so hot :(.
