i won't say anything more cos it's just gonna get messy.
I agree we should keep arguing about rumors or this will be a very boring thread...
Microsoft can't get their house in order, be dammed..
well, i am staying out cos it's too distracting for me and i don't want to get overworked on something that doesn't really have too much info to do any solid research,
The Next Xbox "A New Generation Revealed" ? - Watch Live 22nd May 3am
Just got this in an email...hopefully they show off more than Sony
Office Promo Link: http://www.xbox.com/en-AU/hub/home
From Major Nelson's website:
so i guess with a reveal now a X-Mas 2013 release would make sense?
if so its good timing because my x360 just died (E74 error with a very slim chance of fixing it) and i have no interest in buying a new one, however a next gen console would interest me.
Yeah, just got the same email. Thought it was spam at first because of the typo (Xbox.co.au? Does anyone proofread these before they're sent out?) but looking forward to seeing what Microsoft comes up with this time around.
We won't get any details, just some teasers like PS4.
Still adamant we will be waiting till March in Australia, and Europe.
Didn't sony show off quite a bit? They told everyone the details that actually matter. Here's some games for it, here's the controller for it, here's the hardware specs for it, here's the details on extra functionality built into the console. The only thing they didn't show was the piece of plastic that surrounds the hardware. Would have been nice to see, but the look of the console is hardly more important than its specs, functionality, games, or the controller.
Price, Console, Release Date etc etc
all not important to you?
And they didn't detail all the specs.
Trailers are hardly something.
Nope. None of them influence how excited I am for the next PS, nor whether or not I'll buy it. FWIW they did say release was holiday 2013, which is exactly what MS will say. Neither will confirm price until closer to release.
Yes they did. They detailed what counts, enough to make devs splooge and fans get amped. Immediately post event there was a fact sheet on the Japanese Sony site with confirmation of hardware details. In the following weeks they have detailed even more. We now know quite a deal about the PS4.
I just want to see if MS have something unique to offer or if it'll be the Kinect 2 show.
I have no issue with MS just giving us a hardware update with nothing "unique" - more grunt for prettier gaming and snappy load times would suit me fine as my only real issue I have with current gen is the graphics tend to look a little dated these days and I'm getting impatient in my old age.
I do totally agree with you on the kinect issue though, I hope it doesn't become a mandatory thing as some places are claiming or even worse built into the console. I keep my consoles and htpc in in my study with cabling through the roof to my home theatre room so I can have just a tv on the wall in that room. The cabling distance is too far for usb and having to have the console in the same room would be a deal breaker for me.
I hope it is backwards compatible..
If they're moving from PowerPC to X86/64...probably not gonna happen. Unless they manage to emulate the whole damn 360 on it.
they did buy the software/hardware or something so it might be possible. the reason xbox to 360 didnt work was because they didnt have this.
There are rumours of there being a physical BC chip you can buy.
Forza Motorsport 5
Call of Duty: Ghosts
Dragon Age III: Inquisition
The Evil Within
Next-Gen Family Game
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Next-Gen Zombie Game
Rainbow 6: Patriots
Cannot imagine how good Forza 5 is going to look.
Hopefully we can get decent wheel support on this console, and not restricted to the bullshit expensive ones, or the crappy M$ ones...
It's console, keep dreaming...
... but why would M$ put out a wheel when you can just use kinect?
