    FAQ
    Hitscan
There will be no hitscan weapons in the game. All weapons will be projectile based, including the sniper rifle.

    Base Play
In medium-large numbers games we're trying to keep the game interesting by providing both the defense and the offense with a large number of options. Defense is less binary than T:A where you have one base and when it goes down that's that. Typically base maps have multiple bases and towers with different power configurations, allowing for a more dynamic push & pull between offense and defense. - From Mabel

    Lag Compensation
Every weapon in the game (as well as flags, other players, whatever) has some form of latency compensation. The latency compensation works up to 150ms for most weapons. For the CG and sniper the compensation may work up to 250ms.

    Vehicles
Are not solidified yet, but will come.

    Fall damage
    Coming. Not implemented yet.

Speed loss on bad landings while skiing
I.e. when you hit the ground at a steep angle, instead of coming down almost parallel with the slope of the ground. Coming, shares so much with fall damage that they'll almost certainly be implemented at the same time.

    Inheritance values
Currently 50% for RL and GL, and 100% for chaingun. Don't know about other weapons. However, Mabel has mentioned that they're thinking about making inheritance a setting so that players can choose their own, at least for some weapons.

    OOB grid
Currently there are two OOB grids. There's a "soft" inner one that players can pass through at will, but will serve as a limit for flag play (basically OOB grid from T2 and I think T1), and a "hard" outer grid beyond which players cannot go. Fortunately it seems that UE4 is capable of bigger maps that UE3, so maps should be big enough to not feel restrictive at all.

    Chaingun heat mechanic
    Coming eventually.

    Downjet (downjat) a la Legions
Probably not coming. Mabel said a while ago that it's just too hard to balance it without nerfing it to the point that it hardly does anything.

    Grappler (grabbler)
    Not coming.

    Mods
We definitely do want to find ways to have the community/players engage and create in other ways aside from community mapmaking, which is planned, but we don't have any specifics on that yet.

    Hacking
This is something that's in our minds but we don't really have a need to tackle it just yet. We'll figure stuff out as more and more people start to play Midair (Instant Access, Alpha, etc) because we know it can be a real issue. Since we are integrated with Steam, thanks to Greenlight, we do have access to their anti-cheat stuff too.

    Mac, Linux Versions
Game is based on UE4, so could come. Not ruled out.

Yup - and I'm not really seeing the problem here :D

    Edit: Saw this on reddit...

Looks like a fairly substantial team to make a game thats faithful to the T1/T2 ethos. Lets hope their business model is both decent for the players and realistic for themselves.

Heh - early days yet mate :) A kickstarter will come shortly for alpha/beta access so we'll see then how the game flows and even more importantly, how responsive the devs will be to ideas and constructive criticism from their customers.

Kickstarter is up! And they are going gangbusters! Already 50% towards their goal after just a few days

    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/archetypestudios/midair

Eventhough the game is still very much in alpha, they have had old Tribes 1 & 2 players banging on the game for a while. As part of the kickstarter, they have been running some casted comp level games. Midair already has demo recording working which is pretty awesome.

Its looking very very good :D

With 2 weeks to go, they are becoming very close to crossing the $100k pledge line :D

Hopefully they will make a few of the stretch goals. There is also some talk by the developers of Tribes fans being able to get help fund the game post-kickstarter
