honestly everything under $50 new is garbage. best off trying to snag a cheap galaxy S4 or similar off gumtree/FB marketplace.

depends on what you want to do. slow processor, shitty screen, low ram. Google mini is worth about $50, so for $79 it's not terrible but don't expect it to do much or give a smooth experience.

If you can stretch to $200 without the google mini you'll open up to a lot of way better phones from xiaomi...

Looking at replacing my Silent Circle Blackphone2 since it's gone end of life.

Anyone have any recommendations for security / privacy orientated phones in the current generation?
Sadly there doesn't look like there will be a blackphone3, so looking for a replacement with a similar feature set.

    Ideal features
Full phone based app permissions control (no app overrides)
relatively up to date security patching.
No cloud sync or removal of data off the phone (or optional is okay)
Ability to create virtual phones with non-shared storage would be a nice to have.
auto power on/off or airplane on/off timing.
    Full disk encryption

don't really care on Android vs iphone (if the iphone can do the above)

Good evening. I'd like to replace my Galaxy S5 which was running Cyanogenmod until is was stolen and destroyed. I'm preferably chasing these ancient features:

    - Removable battery
    - Polycarbonate for lightweight/durability
    - Vanilla android
    - Notification LED
    - Support for 256GB or larger MicroSD

$200-$300 price range as I don't want 1GB/Snapdragon 200 series levels of performance (eg. Nokia 1).

Or are such phones a thing of the past and I need to find another Galaxy S5?

    Thank you

Hi legends.. I'm wanting some advice on a new phone..
I'm looking at the oppo r17, or oppo r17 pro if it's worth the "pro" the LG g7 plus thinq, or Sony xz2...
I'm leaving towards the oppo r17.. Specs seem pretty good.? Always wanted to try a Sony, and the LG just seems awesome but $1k!
    Thoughts and opinions please?

Ebay has 20% off some stores and you can get the R17 for $560, tempted to pull the trigger myself. The wife needs a replacement for a 16Gb iPhone 6.
