Ok so my sisters 6131 is broken, so I am looking for a new one for her. I am looking for another flip or slide phone, atleast 2mp camera, screen must be QVGA, atleast 2", preferably bigger, must be fairly thin and small, good looking, and the budget is around $400 outright and unlocked. So what is there?

    Thanks guys.

My N95 was run over last night and is pretty much f**ked :tired:.

What do you guys think of the N82 as a replacement?

It has pretty much all the same features, but I was getting a bit annoyed at the slide and the position of the camera cover causing it to come open when I put it in my pocket. Looks like it has slightly better battery life too.

How long until it's released by 3 do you think?

Is the N81 the best thing you can get on an optus 49cap? I've been looking for a new phone and have decided on the optus 49cap but theres so much choice of phones and dealers. I'm impartial to brand but what do you guys think is the best offer and why?

Mum's Sony Ericsson Z550i broke today, the flip won't close properly and opens up half way now (its cracked on one of the sides of the flip) and feels like it could easily break, so now she is looking for a new phone similar in features.

Basicly something in the $150-200 range and needs to work with Optus.

    Requirements:

Either a Flip or a Slider but Standard/Candybar is fine
    1.3mp camera or better
    Bluetooth
    Memory Card Support

She also wants a phone in either a red or pink colour..but the colour of the phone isn't really important...

I actually looked at the 6300 and asked if she liked it before but wasn't sure if optus prepaid sells them in red etc

Nokia 6300s must be popular at the moment for christmas presents because I went to about 4 stores and none of them had any Optus 6300's.

I ended up getting a Nokia 6131 for $199 from Tandy (Virgin Mobile sells these for $199 but also work on Optus )

Just had a look at it and transferred a few things from mums old phone to the 6131 (couldn't transfer all of it because of the limited memory...next thing would be getting a memory card).

Now I'm off to put it under the tree (mums stuck with a nokia 1110 until xmas day )

Anyone know of windows mobile powered phones in the price range of about $300?

I'm seriously thinking of getting the Samsung SGH-i320N.
It's a cut-down version of the Samsung Blackjack, without 3G/Next-G, wifi and a few other tiddly bits.
Can be got for $280 outright (and the Blackjack itself is now only $499)

I also am very interested in this. Although I'm not tied down to Windows Mobile.

    ok.. little help:

    Current phone: V3 (original)

    Needs:
    -4+ day battery life
    -Bluetooth
-~2megapixel camera (can compromise a little on this as I don't think I'd use it much)
    -Flip
    -Must be reliable!
    -reasonable looks
    -Good voice quality
    -decent calendar utility

    Wants:
-Ability to sync calendar with pc(outlook?) without buying extra doodads

    Doesn't need/matter:
    -MP3 player
    -Radio
    -Other superfluous crap

Budget: 300~ Outright (can buy via ebay etc)

    Suggestions?

    The s500i is $300+ outright.

But you can just buy it for $199 in the virgin pack which will also work on the optus network. Or you can buy $80 of virgin credit and get it unlocked. Prepaid pack is only available at DSE.

Need some advice/guidance - I've narrowed my choice down to two Next G phones - Nokia N95 & Sony Ericsson k850i

The n95 gives GPS which is adventagious (I have a Symbian TomTom licence already for my 6120)

One issue that I see is how to buy either at a reasonable cost (will be purchased outright)
