Hey all. Im downsizing my monitor. Going for a 32inch 4k with HDR10. Mostly used for gaming on my ps4 pro and mostly FPS games. Ive narrowed it down to two option i like, both kind of at opposite ends of the price range. Ideally id go the cheaper option but Im worried if i go that route that there might be some key features id be missing out on and how that would effect my specific use.

    LG 32UD99
    LG 32UK55

    Thanks heaps in advance :)

Appears that the UD99 is an IPS panel, and the UK55 is a VA panel.

Out of those two I'd get the 32UD99-W... but personally, the X34P is the same price as that and it's a better monitor except for the HDR.

Why get a monitor for console gaming? The VA panel would probably be the better choice. The IPS one if you do photo or video editing, better colour reproduction but slower response times.

    Typically they have lower lag.

The IPS panel would be my pick, There is a reason it's nearly twice the price of the VA model.
I just prefer IPS colour over VA speed, if only slower by 1ms.

Ditto. OLED is the colour king, but there are other downsides to that tech (pros and cons, always). If I'm playing on LCD, then I want an IPS panel.

That's fair enough. Modern tellies are getting massive, so if you're not sitting way back on a couch, they can be way too big.
