Motorola makes some really nice hardware, and then has to ruin it by locking up the bootloader.

Yep. Everyone go get a Desire Z if you must have a landscape keyboard, recent root + clockworkmod = custom ROMs in no time. :D

i have left Motorola permanently due to the disappointment that is the milestone bootloader.

i see no difference with this product because back then when Motorola started to rise again, they told us in an official statement, to buy a HTC phone if we don't like their way of doing business.

*so damn happy with my n1 and hd2*

So you can't root it because of the bootloader?

Well it can be rooted. Not an entirely simple workaround, but it works. This has piqued my interest for the phone now :D

For those interested, i found it listed on the Optus Business website. And it's running Froyo right out of the box which is nice:

    Cheapest is $0 on a $59 a month plan.

just picked up one of these last week, so far im quite impressed :D

just removed all the optus crap, and changed the launcher to adw launcher or launcher pro both have similar speeds which is much quicker than default.

plenty of great apps for it, flashing led's on the top and dual bulb flashlight are handy, shame about the lack of radio function :( i still think i would of bought the desire z if it was released here; a rom for this is gonna take years :(

    * 3G Mobile Hotspot functionality –connect up to 5 devices
^ this option rocks btw :D

and the optus plan is insane:
    $60 a month
    $700 of calls
free sms (use it just like IM, made over 200sms this week)
    free mms
    2gb of data
fone is free :D (sell it when something else comes out)
