Microsoft have released the April 2003 MSDN Library ISOs for free. Just a heads up if anyone is interested.

    More info (with links)

I've requested them on files.bigpond.com so hopefully they wont be too far away (buggered if i'm using 1.8GB of my usage to download them all :p)

If someone downloads these, is there any chance I can get a set burnt and I'll cover postage/CD costs? Optus 3GB a month makes it impossible to download 1.8GB. :(

    wow thats great!

I've just requested for GameArena to host the three files... with a bit of luck they will host them and Telstra users will be sweet.

Micrsoft downloads are akamai...aka waix traffic.

So, you hit the main site, and it will automatically find the closest Mirror.

    GRRR

Telstra refused to host them, but I realised just then that I requested them on GameArena and not Telstras new file library...

I've re-requested, and we'll see what they say...

The answer had better be yes... they host massive Linux ISO's, so I dont see why they cant host this.

I already requested them on the new file server PappaSmurf, when I posted the thread. No response so far, but perhaps they're slower over there. I havent requested anything from there before to know.

I've read the description of the cd's and it doesn't sound too interesting to me. :) What's on them that's worth 1.8GB of downloading? Why the excitement?

Its all of the content in http://msdn.microsoft.com/library

Basically offline versions of all of their manuals, product info, sdks etc. It also includes some books, technical papers, magazine articles and some such.

And I believe nowdays MSDN has tutorial video's... although I'm not sure how much truth in that there is, as 1.8gig isn't that big.. mabey this is only MSDN enterprise or something (comes on at least 1 or 2 DVD's I think??)

Generally MSDN is used as help for Visual Studio (this version is only compatible with VS.NET). It also contains a lot of handy information about all the SDK's etc etc etc.

Where i work (a university), we have an MSDN subscription. It comes with a few extra little features, like all the M$ os's are available for download from a special subscriber site (got Windows Server 2003 Enterprise last week off of it).

The one that comes with the video's and tutorials is TechNet.

You can very easily learn a visual studio.net language by using the msdn. Very very helpful :)

i'm on capped iinet so I can do it but it's gonna take a while :)

is that the only place they are hosted? is there an australian server or a waix server with them? Someone mentioned there was but i can't find it.

Otherwise we could download a cd each? :) and swap through post. I dunno.
