In June myself and couple of mates finally made it to the summit of Mt Rinjani (3726m). I say finally as we were supposed to do this 15 years ago (when I was fit) while researching places for a friends wedding on Lombok. Despite several trips to Lombok since then we finally did it this year.

I have the white t-shirt on in first pics.

And for some perspective the small volcano forming in the main crater in the panorama pic Mt Rinjani is 300m high.

Some more pics and a video here

Nice photos - the panorama of the caldera is great

I was in Lombok about eight weeks ago, with the intention of climbing Mt. Rinjani. Unfortunately I came down with a giant head cold, much like the time I tried to climb Mt. Kinabalu, so I didn't even attempt the walk. Good to see you made it - congratulations :)
