Pretty much as the title reads - if you usually have more than one monitor running, do you disable the others (leaving only the primary running) when playing games? Does leaving the others running actually have an impact on games, or is it negligible? What about if there's something displayed on the other monitor(s)... a browser, IRC client, etc.

I usually just leave my other 2 monitors on.. has negligible effect on gaming and usually just have my email and sometimes the tv..

What kind of games do you play? 3D or 2D?

I play most games in windowed mode. I browse internet and watch movies during slower times in game. Especially if it's multiplayer games like Civ where I have to wait for friends. Otherwise skype up on one screen and email on other.

    Nope.
My background is black, so there's not really much showing on the other screen anyway.
I do sometimes use it for hardware monitoring depending on the game (looking at you, KSP), and if I'm playing music I'll have winamp open on that screen too.

I just turn off my secondary monitor so it isn't a distraction; I play 3D games.

really it depends on the game and what else I'm doing/want to do.

if it's a really great game and I want to just immerse screen off.

Depends on the game though. Sometimes i just use two screens - one for watching TV/have wikipedia/guides up and the other screen for the game (usually the middle one) in windowed mode (borderless if possible)

Depends what I want to do.

If it's an extremely aesthetic game and not multi, turn on eyefinity.

If it's a competitive game, I'll have the game in windowed fullscreen, info/twitch on a browser on one and fb/steamchat/mumble on the other.

If it's a game I can just turn off too, windowed fullscreen, social on one screen and a movie or some tv series on the other.

I got 3 screens, the middle is primary. Sometimes I leave them on when I'm playing during the day but at night their definitely turned off.

I generally run games in eyefinity or in a window on my middle screen. I don't find my other screens or the bezels (when using eyefinity) distracting.
